Chinese cloisonné and gilt bronze horned mythical animal from the late 19th century. The body is decorated with a colorful cloud pattern. The top, also a lid, is decorated with a blue, green, and gold hexagonal turtle shell pattern and two blue dragons on body. It has three pieces, the body, a fitted lid, and an inset piece. It measures 6" long, 6" tall.

17th/18th C Chinese hardwood carving of Quan Yin. Beautifully carved with nice elegant lines, this statue has a wonderful patina than only comes with time. In very good condition there are a few age cracks which do not affect the integrity of the piece. There is some glue residue on the bottom where she was attached to an old lamp base. Budai is the Chinese "Père Noël" ,the Japanese calls him Hoteï. He carries toys in a big bag and distributes them to children who adore him and are sometimes represented at his side. The god is seated, his half-open robe reveals his large belly, a symbol of his generosity. He holds his rosary in his hand. Oddly enough his big bag is missing. It is sculpted from a beige steatite ( soap stone) stained with pink, on the skull appear red veins of the stone...

Small rooster in green and orange yellow glazed clay. Tang period. I will take more pictures on request. Good condition. A glued label with the number 7 of an old collection. The age is certain because I bought it 50 years ago and in 1970 there were no copies of Tang ceramics of such small size, the only copies that were made at that time were of important subjects, large horses, camels and riders.... A Ming cast-iron figure of Vairocana, the Dharmakaya Buddha, the most important of the Five Dhyani Buddhas, the one from whom the other emanate from; his name means "luminous" or "embodiment of light”. He is sitting on a lotus throne, holding his hands in Abisheka Mudra (consecration gesture). On the back side there is a dedication: donated by the Li family. Ming Dynasty, 1368–1644. H. 27.
