Offered is a superbly painted pair of 18th Century Japanese porcelain cups, made by one of the Arita kilns circa 1730-80.
These cups measure about 8.3 cm wide and about 5.0 cm high; they are a bit larger than teabowls of the period on average, and may have been intended for wine or saké, or for general use. I don't think they ever had saucers...

A good Arta dish of awabigata form decorated in somenishikide style with a pattern of various shellfish and plants with a seascape of waves and plovers above.
