19th century wooden netsuke of a Buddhist monk arm wrestling with an oni on a huge lotus leaf. Wonderful subject, excellent carving with superb faces and great detailing of their limbs and fingers. Himotoshi is formed by the lotus stem on the bottom, beautiful patina. Signed RAKUSHI on the bottom - judging by the subject and the first character of the signature, the artist belonged to the Rakumin School and was obviously a master carver. Length 1 1/2 inches.

This is a very unusual Japanese Cloisonne vase that looks more like a porcelain blue and white vase. The vase has a mix of silver wire and wireless enamel work. The vase is heavy and has a nice glossy sheen. The rims have an unusual dark chocolate patina to them. It stands 9 5/8 inches tall and is 6 1/2 inches wide. Overall condition is very good but there are two short lines in the narrow white area just above the scroll on the base.

Antique Japanese bronze vase of a stout, round form with tiny handles and a round, shallow opening. It has areas of deep red and blackish pigment in a weblike, splatter pattern. It comes with a beautiful wooden box, with an artist's stamp and black kanji.

It is a Japanese antique uchishiki of silk (chirimen) of the hand yuzen dye tsutsugaki of the highest class in Edo period. The bold composition of the paulownia is impressive with the Chinese phoenix. Yuzen kimono is also very polite. There are two small repair marks. Shigenobu (Hiroshige II) 1826-1869. The oban tate-e triptych depicts Minamoto no Yorimitsu, Sakata no Kintoki and Watanabe no Tsuna entering the mountain home of the demons. Circa 1851-1853.

This is Sashiko kimono used in Kaga area Kanazawa for the Meiji period. As for this, cotton is dyed with a natural indigo plant. The cotton is spun by hand. This is a very good texture.
The pattern of Sashiko is a leaf of Basho. There are no stain, damage. The state is complete.

Wonderful Ca. 1930 Kyoto-yaki ceramic bowl signed by Nishigawa in a signed original box. Inscripted on the box is the word Nishiki-ga meaning patterned after the obis woven in the Nishiki weaving area of Kyoto. 13cm tall x 28cm in diameter. Great condition.

It is a thick indigo dyed cotton noren that looks like a very nice folding screen of Taisho era.
It is a very auspicious pine, bamboo, plum and crane, turtle design.
There is a faint fading part, but overall it is in very good condition.
On the far right is the name and date of the orderer for this noren. There is a family crest of the house.
This noren has 12 panels sewn together. Size::Vertical length:170cm (66.9inch) / Widt:398cm (156.6inch)

Antique Japanese low Todana tansu with one large drawer and a compartment opened with sliding panels. Mostly made of Sakuranoki (Cherry) wood, the sliders have horizontal slats over Keyaki (Zelkova) wood panels. As well, the side panels of the tansu are also made of Keyaki. The sides and back of the tansu are reinforced with sakura wood bracing. Hardware includes iron Warabite drawer pulls and lock on sliding panels.

19th century mixed material netsuke in kagamibuta (mirror lid) form. The top is mounted with a bronze or shakudo galloping horse, gilding to the eye and spots on its body, superb crisp work. Beautifully captured sense of motion, great patina, old age lines, swinging metal loop on the back for the cord, compressed dust on the surface. Length 1 3/8 inches.
