This is a heavy Chines necklace which was worn by the Dong ethnic minority women. It can be worn and also makes a very impressive display artifact.
The bib front and back are domed to a thickness of about 1 inch at the center and the piece spans over 10 inches side to side. The weight of the piece (approx 2 lbs)indicates that the piece is definately not hollow

Late 19th to early 20th century Chinese agate carving of a goose standing in a stream by the rocks as it pecks a flowering peony bush. Beautiful stone, clever use of its natural color to differentiate the bird from the plant, excellent quality carving, high polish to the surface. Height 1.6 inches.
This is a very unusual design. All the pigeons that fly under the gallan are Hand-painted dyeing and very accurately and boldly drawn, just like a Buddhist painting. There is light dirt, but there is no damage.

An antique Japanese merchant chest called Choba Tsukue made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Two drawers used for the storage of an inkstone and brushes as well as paper for writing transaction records and receipts. The drawer interiors have minor ink stains which is a testament to its usage and function.

18th century netsuke of a karako (Chinese boy) wearing nicely decorated robe, holding a fan in his hand and seating on a very large bag. Strong early netsuke, great facial expression with an attractive smile, well carved textile patterns, warm yellow patina, old age lines. Height 1 5/8inches.

A nice lot of 4 small refined celts made from silex as imitations of bronze celts in the bronzeage period. The set dates to ca. 1400 BC or so and the type are rather scarce since they are made late up in the bronzeage!
Nicely patinated and polished pieces that is a must for collectors of Neolithic silex.

Beautifully hand carved jade pendant of the mystical fenghuang, or phoenix, with a blooming lotus beside it. The fenghuang symbolizes the union of yin and yang, and each part of its body represents a different word: its head is for virtue, wings are duty, back is propriety, abdomen for credibility, and chest for mercy. Carving has a small hole drilled through the top for wearing on a necklace. 20th century

Phoenix is an imaginary and sacred bird by Chinese lore which perches on paulownia tree and eats fruits of bamboo. Tsutsugaki technique is excellent with fine freehand line. In excellent condition.
