Small Guangxu ink well, circa 1880's, dense, heavy and beautiful. It could also have been used as a small brush washer and doubled as a document or paper weight when not in use. In good condition it has a few nicks around the outer edge expected with a well used piece. Measures 3.25 wide x 1.25 high.
Beni-itajime-zome (board-clamped dyeing with safflower) han-juban (short under kimono). The body part is hand-spun cotton and the sleeves are figured silk and the wrist parts are wool muslin. Japanese rare and unusually beautiful short matchlock rifle. The wide iron barrel is inlaid with a dragon in silver with raised golden eyes. The handle is lacquered black and decorated with gold lacquer kuyo (nine-star) mon crest, which was used by more than one family including the Katakura and Matsukura samurai clans. This mon appears again inlaid in silver around the mouth of the rifle. Made by one of the Kunitomo, specialized gunsmiths to the samurai...

Japanese small and exquisite Satsuma ware censer, unusual double gourd shape with two handles and three feet, lid with delightful fu-dog finial, one side is decorated with two scenes from 100 Rakans (Buddhist saints), the other side is decorated with two scenes of beautiful ladies, everything else is covered with tiny designs in gold, beautiful condition, Taisho Period, 6 character kanji says: Satsuma yaki, Suigetsu ga. (trans: Satsuma Ware painted by Suigetsu).

17th Century Chinese Bronze Donkey Shaped Incense Burner with Dragon Saddle
It is 8.2 inches (20.8 cm) tall by 8.6 inches (21.8 cm) in length and 4 inches (10.1 cm) wide. It is 2455 gram (5.4 Lb).
It has pitting, firing holes, small chips and missing 2 sticks at the saddle, loss of patina, oxidation, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

This is kome-bukuro (sack of grain)of the patchwork dedicated to the Shinto shrine of Edo period(1830-1868). It is weaving of silk kinran and ginran of Nishijin textile.
It is very wonderful and beautiful. There is no stain. There is a rubbed little part. However, it is very excellent. The lining is cotton. All the parts are very wonderful textile. It recommends it for your collection.

The hunting scene shows a naked man with a spear grasping at a bird hidden behind a large ivy leaf which may represent the forest grove.
On the other side a woman with diminutive head and outstretched arms. Assuming that plants are denoted by contouring dots, she is standing next to three trees in her garden.
Figural depictions on this type of pottery are rare...

This Toe has the elavated horselike tail with three spikes, and standing on an octagonal and finely stepped base.

The ground textile is a dark woolen flannel "inlaid" with pieces of colored fabric and embroidered in silk yarn in different colors. The embroideries from Rasht in Gilan Province were made by professional male embroiderers. Cotton lining, silk fringes. Dimension: diameter (without fringes): 142 cm, fringes: c. 8.5 cm long. Condition: fine, little faded, minimally stained.
