A large and very rare lead glazed earthenware roof ridge tile sculpture depicting a civil official riding a celestial horse with flaring nostrils,bulging eyes and flowing mane. This item was made in Shanxi province, northern China, during the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644). There is a very closely related example on display in the Victoria and Albert Museum in the Architectural section of the new ceramics display on the 5th Floor (No.2) - Museum no. C.13,14 - 1910...

A set of five, sometsuke tusurugata kozara, blue and white Crane shaped small dishes dating to the late seventeenth century. An identical set of dishes is illustrated in volume II of the Shibata Collection at page 272 no 714, there dated c.1680-1710. Their condition is good all the dishes show crazing to the glaze, two have a minute chip each to the edge. Similar shaped dishes have been excavated from the Sarukawa kiln at Arita...

Antique Chinese beautifully carved altar cabinet, made of jumu wood, flanged top, the top portion has four drawers carved with flowers, the middle portion has two large compartments opened by four drawers on dowel hinges and carved with lions and flowers, the bottom portion has four drawers with no carving, late 19th century. Antique Chinese table, made from huanghuali with a beautiful, glowing grain. Around its sides are carved spirals designs over a large border panel. The front and back panels are carved with the calligraphy symbol for double happiness in between two dragons with clouds of billowing smoke around their bodies and two phoenixes flying on either side. The table's side panels are without dragons but otherwise the same with carved double happiness symbol and smoke detailing...

Chinese carved cabinet made all of beautiful hongmu hardwood, front is carved with four scenes of immortals and children with birds and animals in mountain pavilion setting, interior has a shelf with two drawers, the inside of each of the cabinet doors is also beautifully carved, brass hardware on inside and out, circa 1900.
