A Korean Very Fine Iron-Black Painted Koryo Celadon Bottle-13th C.: Korea, Koryo period, 13th C. This is very fine and tall tapered neck celadon wine bottle with cup-shape mouth painted in iron black with three-three leafy floral spray designed under smooth and clear bluish celadon glaze, and also two ring band incised around the neck, it bears kiln adhesive on the bottom. Of elegant pear shaped form. 18th. century, unmarked. Unfortunalely on all the images of the piece the blue color of the vase is much too light. In nature the vase has an wonderful very intensive blue tone. H : 18,8 cm. Condition : Perfect. Provenance : Old German collection.

This tripod censer has an extremely well potted rare shape. The censer is covered with an superb opaque glaze of finely mottled turquoise and purplish-blue tone. A piece of superlatives. The Mark on the piece is the Mark of the legendary Imperial Supervisor Tang Ying but the piece probably is from the nineteenth century. Diameter : 14,8 cm. H : 7,4 cm. Condition : Perfect. Provenance : Old south German collection.

Ca. 1800s

This jade pendant is well-carved with a design of peony flowers and leaves in low relief. The carving extends to the back, though simpler and flatter. It is a deep green with areas of lighter mottling, but when held to the light, it shows a brilliant translucent apple-green. It has an old probably 14k gold jump ring for attachment.

This white jade is of an even pale celadon-white tone with a few small veins of light russet. It is carved in the form of a six-lobed melon standing upright and supported by four large leaves that emanate from a vine that runs beneath it. The vine is carved all the way through and flattened on the bottom to provide a stable surface for the stone to stand vertically. This white jade has an overall soft, even polish and is in good condition...

Xuande mark, but ca. 1600s

This incense-burner has a flaring rim form raised on three ogee feet and has its original patina and considerable carbon incrustation from many years of use. Two lion's head handles embellish the body and the cast Da Ming Xuande mark is centered on the base. The interior is darkened from use and the exterior shows small areas of darkened bronze where not obscured by blackish patina. There is a slight dent to the rim. The condition overall is very good...

A small underglaze blue decorated stem dish painted inside with three 17th/18th Centuty style cranes and outside with three bats. The stem is decorated with buddhist knots and stylized plantain leaves. To the inside of the base is the four character mark of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722) but this item was probably made later, during the 19th Century. Condition - there are two repairs to the rim, each with an associated short hairline. No further damages or restoration...

The wood appears to be old jichi wood that is exceptionally well-carved with twisting tree trunks of pine and plum intertwined to form the body, while stylized pine needles and plum blossoms encircle the perimeter. The pine and plum trunks are carved to show their contrasting textures. The piercing and depth of the carving give an energetic quality to the piece. Based on the carving, this stand was not intended as a fitted stand for a particular vase or sculpture...

An Edo period Oribe sake bottle of simple but full proportions and with classically Japanese Zen decoration - austerely yet sensitively placed grass and blooms decoration in iron oxide on the softly crackled opaque off-white glaze ever so slightly scorched in the kiln on two sides where the body is almost slightly exposed and oxidized to a buff tone at those points. The cut foot also glazed save for a crescent reserve around the center where the warm gray body is exposed...

Ming Dynasty, Jiajing Period, 1522-1566

This vase is glazed white overall with a subtle fine crackle and has two horizontal luting lines very slightly raised on the body. The base is glazed white and the very white paste of the footring is exposed. The interior is fully glazed white. Two small iron specks are present below the shoulder. Unfortunately, there is a crack on one side that has not been restored, but is restorable...

Japanese lacquered tray with the view of Tagonoura and Mt. Fuji with various Japanese motifs surrounding the image. Taka makie is used to create the effect on Mt. Fuji and hira makie is used to paint the motifs surrounding the landscape. On the bottom is the name of the studio: Sato. Age: Late 19th to early 20th century.
