A finely cast figure of a Godess, likeley 'Uma', standing in samabhanga, wearing a sampot with a elaborate hems, holding ritual objects in both hands, richly adorned with jewelry. Her strongly featured face with almond-shaped eyes, and full lips, the head surmounted by a large and elaborate pointed crown.

Japanese ivory netsuke depicting the Buddha's Hand or Fingered cedar among the leaves, a scented ornamental citrus fruit, a very important symbol in Buddhism, in the shape of a hand, originating from China and Japan where it is grown for religious purposes.
The surface of the netsuke precisely reproduces the natural texture of the fruit, which is not smooth but characterized by roughness and pores.

Early Meiji Maneki Neko (Beckoning Cat), believed to bring wealth and good luck, from the collection of a renowned author on and collector of Asian art. The fur is white with random black and orange patches. This tri-coloring is considered especially lucky. This belief may be related to the rarity of this coloring in the Japanese bobtail cats, after which the Maneki Neko is modeled. This coloring is called Mi-ke in Japanese, meaning three-fur. 7.5 inches, 19 cm tall.

This is a very rare Cloisonne piece from Kinuken or S Inaba. Kinukenwas one of the Meiji masters. We've never seen another. It was acquired from one of the best cloisonne collections in the world. It is probably a late Meiji, early Showa era piece. The plague has two sides and a footed gilt frame. Some of the gilt is worn, otherwise it is in perfect condition. Stamped S. Inaba on the frame. It stands 7 5/8 inches and is 7 5/8 inches wide...
