Taisho screens are very much sort after today for their unique beauty and the way that they complement a contemporary setting. Hand-woven Kasuri ramie (high quality hemp) taken from a man’s kimono with a pattern of small arrows. This type of kasuri fabric was not for common people. It was too expensive so it was only worn by wealthy merchants or the samurai class. 3 1/3" cut in the middle, 1 to 2 small hole. Meiji period (1868-1912). 13 1/8” x 111 1/4”

Chinese Blue and White Teapot with stylised Cockerel spout and handle. The body decorated with pavilions on islands in a lakeside setting. 18thc Qianlong C1765/75. Height 12.5 cm, Length 21.5 cm. Condition; excellent, small frit to tip of spout, no chips, cracks or restoration.

A Qing Celadon Censer. Diameter approximately 11.8 cm and height approximately 9.8 cm. Decorated with flowers, curve lines and covered with bluish green color. Good condition.

From our Chinese Blue and White Collection, a very fine Yongzheng (1723 -1735) Mark and Period Dragon Dish of shallow saucer form, depicting an animated dragon clutching a flaming pearl in its right claw while its winding body wraps around the dish and extends onto the reverse, all set against a backdrop of cloud motifs. The entire composition is extremely well-executed in a rich deep blue. The Yongzheng six character mark is contained within double circles and is of the period...

Japanese kura tansu (warehouse storage chest), made entirely of keyaki (elm) wood with very dramatic grain, thick keyaki side and back bracing, sliding panels with horizontal keyaki slats, right side has interior vertical row of 2 drawers and a hinged safe door which opens to yet another drawer, left side has interior shelf, Edo Period (c1850) Size: 23 1/4" high x 35 3/4" wide x 19" deep.

A beautiful early Qing dynasty sapphire blue glazed small vase, very elegant sapphire blue. In excellent condition, except there is a firing glaze shrinking on the bottle (pls. see photo). H:6".

An extremely beautiful, large and impressive white glazed covered box with moulded decoration. Yuan Dynasty ( 1279 - 1368 ) Fujian ware, probably Anxi or Dehua. A similar piece is in the collection of the Baur Foundation and in Köln in the Museum für Ostasiatische Kunst. Another similar example is illustrated in the catalogue " The Tectus Collection", preface Rosemary Scott. Diameter : 14,5 cm. H : 8,8 cm. Condition : Perfect.

An extremely thinly potted, moulded porcelain dish, decorated in an most beautiful underglaze Cobalt blue. Very nice glossy glaze. Kangxi period ( 1662 - 1722 ) Diameter : 27,9 cm. Condition : Some minute glaze fritting to the rim and one long, secured crack to the bottom - area of the dish.
