A Japanese Arita dish, in Kakiemon style, of rhomboid shape with rounded, spreading sides rising from a circular foot. The inside is decorated round the sides with a continuous 'classic scroll' boldly moulded in relief, and below with a design painted in pale blue, red, green, black and pale yellow enamels. An Arita serving bowl, namasu, of moulded simplified lotus form partially celadon glazed with a ko sometsuke style Sansui landscape in the well of the bowl framed by enamelled Chestnut branches outlined in gilt. The reverse plain and the interior of the foot-ring clear glazed. The bowl is typical of the output of the Higuchi kiln in the Nangawara valley which specialised in combing celadon and clear glazes...

A porcelain Kendi with powderblue glaze and decorations in gold, mounted with a silver lid and spout. China, Qianlong (1736-1795). H. 27 cm. Condition: wear to the gold decoration and wear to the silver (see pictures). The silver spout may have had a small lid, that was connected with a chain to the main lid of the Kendi. Note: Many Kendis were exported to Indonesia, it is very well possible that the silver mounts were added there. Provenance: Amsterdam private collection.

Mogul style, 1700s

This well and thinly carved classic chrysanthemum bowl is fashioned from highly transparent agate. Probably dating to the Qianlong period, it was perhaps intended for court use as a wine cup, judging from its high quality carving, and its small and delicate form. Tiny crevices to the interior and pale clouding are natural to the stone. It is in good condition with no chips or restorations...

The set of cup and saucer show a floral theme. Excellent condition.

A Chelsea-Derby dish copying a version of the Ko Imari Kuri-zu Shuronogata dish see EW 2608, decorated in a combination of underglaze cobalt blue and additional enamels. The dishes have a ground foot-ring which is characteristic of the output of the Chelsea factory. The dish is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration, some light stacking wear to the enamels and gilding to the rim. The dish measures 22cm in diameter and stands approximately 3.8cm high...
