Antique Chinese bitong (brush pot) carved of hardwood with beautiful grain patterns. The mouth and foot of the container have a fine cusped edge. The bottom is carved with three low feet. The bitong has a pleasing overall shape with a slight flare towards the top.

A pair of Satsuma vases decorated with two scenes one is a scene of a group of samurai strolling around the streets of Edo and another view is a group of court nobles walking in a garden like setting. The scenes are surrounded by geometric patterns and a dragon set in a medallion form. The bottom of one vase contains the character for the number 3. Age: Taisho Period. This is a high quality and very refined pair of Japanese Cloisonne vases. Though not quite as prolific work as on some pieces, the quality is very high. With almost pitless enamel and a high highly sheen, these vases glow. Condition is excellent and these vases are 4 3/4 inches tall.
Japanese antique indigo work coat, sashiko stitched indigo ikat sleeves, reinforced shoulders with black cotton, beautiful thick woven indigo cotton fabric, vents in under arm area edged in black cotton, Meiji Period.

Slightly distorted cylinder shaped (tsuzu) tea bowl with straight walls, made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potter's knife around the foot ring.
The bowl was partly covered with black iron oxide glaze of the non glossy type (preferable!) and then covered with a black glaze in the style of a Seto-guro bowl. On the other half it is decorated with two oxcart wheels...

Big "Bianlian" Nuo mask of Tudi Gong, the "God of soil" and grains, essential in an agrarian country. He is the main actor in Wunuo cult, usually represented with a smiling face, and long eyebrows and beard often missing or replaced later; when missing, we can see holes where the hair was fastened.
Bianlian means face changing: this mask has an articulated jaw which could be animated by the wearer...
Antique, early 18th century, Imperial Islamic Mughal India, Indo Persian Mail Coif Helmet (Kulah Zirah), formed of hand forged, riveted, iron rings suspended from a circular iron disc fitted on the center with a tubular plume-holder, extending down forming a hood covering the entire head and the neck, the front with a triangular flap over the face and elongated camail, both in front and the back.
