This is a Chinese apple-green porcelain vase, 19th century, unmarked, of bottle form, with with a richly bright green glaze, excellent crazing; rim chip; 8 " high.
An original Tibetan trunk, all hand-painted in red pigment with yellow pigment motifs of flowering vines and central mandala wheel. The sides of the chest are carved with foliate edge apron just below the iron locking clasp. The trunk's lid lifts away to access the roomy interior.

Against the molded celadon ground are enameled famille rose flower sprays, with a Prunus branch curious enameled to the base. Producing this vase would have required two separate firings.
