Interesting and unusually large decorated bronze tweezer, likely Roman but could be much older, perhaps late bronzeage European.

The tweezer measure 10,8 cm. in lenght and is solidly constructed and finely decorated with lines. Two tiny rivets in the low area. The design is most likely Roman, but the fine execution and the rivets could point to an earlier manifacture date.

Condition: Nice VF, absolutely lovely red-brown patina, but a c. 30% loss at one side.

This rural Mongolian bucket is made from lemon wood and was used daily to draw water from the local village well. Truely an ethnographic relic with original iron fittings, and evidence of constant use and old repairs. It is both large and heavy. The diameter of the bucket is 18" and the bucket alone is 14" deep, add another 11" for the handle and iron toggle fitting. The weight is approx 15 lbs. Originally made about 250 yrs ago and probably used constantly for a couple of centuries.

Pre-Columbian Nayarit male Kokopelli ca. 300 ad, playing a wood rasp drum with a horned helmet, the Kokopelli of the prehistoric southwest was described as a man with a terribly deformed back, bent over playing a flute with magical powers and was able to communicate with the Gods, I believe this is the grandfather of the prehistoric southwest Kokopelli, meaning the legends of the Kokopelli didn't start in the southwest but much further south. This is a beautiful Limoges cabinet plate, ca.1890, bearing the Limoges mark of the Coiffe porcelain factory as well as that of Guerin-Pouyat-Elite; featuring molded borders in pale blue within gilt rims and centered with a delicately handpainted spray of lilacs; condition: excellent, no chips, cracks, or crazing; gilt on rims is faded; measurement: 9 inches diam.

Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse (AD 618 - 906)

This attractive pottery model of a horse was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in white, reddish-brown and black pigments. This horse is well-modelled and stands upright and alert.

Height 22.5 cm (8.75 inches)...

Diameter approximately 24 cm. Few soft chips at the rim. In good condition.
