Aged Japanese samurai iron armor covered with black lacquer and gold foil of practical light weight make for infantryman, dated back to the Edo period (or could be a little earlier). W 32 x H 40 x D 13 cm (12.59 x 15.74 x 5.11in). In such actually used condition as is, with lacquer-peelings, partial cut of string, etc...

A Very Rare/Fine Korean 2 Seven Star Daggers? - late 19th C.: Korean late Joseon, late 19th century. Two daggers incised with dragon, phoenix each dagger and seven stars incised on both daggers, and 4 characters and 2 characters on each dagger. Both daggers housed in a wood and metal single sheath. It is in very good condition with metals patinated. It measures 36cm with in a sheath, or 34cm only dagger.

A lovely Late Gothic style, German christian bronze or bell-metal censor, with fine gilt and hanging in Iron-cut cruciform chains, also adorned with firegilt globular hangers, Northern Germany, c. mid 17th. century.

An incense burner that would have been hanging in a church. The Vessel is decorated with three female busts in the Gothic style from which each of the three long chains are suspended. A the top a circular plate with a cutout brass finial.

A hand formed silver vase with lacquered insert attached to a wooden base dating from the Art-deco era. It is 23 cm (9 inches) diameter, 21.5 cm (8-1/2 inches) tall and in overall excellent condition. There is a small impression in the wood base, roughly 1 cm long, on one side...

Fine quality Japanese Meiji silver incense burner, ca 1890. Barrel-form with solid top and bottom and open sides; applied chrysanthemums heightened with gold and silver. Cover oval and flush; finial in form of big loosely-tied bow with tassels. Ends plain and studded; copper and gold ornament with central mons encircled by two scaly, taloned dragons. Scrolled cradle mounted to pillar with brackets on four scroll supports. Applied leafing and flowering tendrils.

Appears to be unmarked...

Modern Classical sterling silver vase. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1913. Ovoid body with short inset neck and raised foot. Engraved and acid-etched stylized ornament: Imbricated leaf border on neck and egg-and-dart border on foot. Elongated leaf-and-dart on body. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 18564B (first produced in 1913), and director’s letter m. Very good condition.

Beautiful Art Nouveau Classical glass perfume with silver overlay, ca 1900. Globular bottle with short neck and ball stopper. Classical flowering and leafing rinceaux overlay with round frame (vacant). Glass is red. Silver has maker’s stamp (Gorham) and no. D941. Very good condition.

English Georgian sterling silver hot water kettle, 18th century. Globular with s-scroll spout and rattan-wrapped swing handle with scroll supports and mounts. Hinged and flush cover with stained-wood finial. Chased scrollwork, diaper, and scallop shells. Marked. Short and straight foot. Very good condition. Victorian Classical sterling silver baby cup. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1888. Straight sides and lobed bracket handle with reeded bands. Stylized ornament: Scrolled frame surrounded by scrolls, leaves, flowers, and a couple hovering insects. Butler finish. Mouth rim has egg-and-dart border. At bottom cast low-relief rinceaux band between reeded borders. Gilt-washed interior. Interlaced script monogram. Full marked including maker’s stamp, date symbol, and no. 3875. Saint Dunstan sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1910. Globular with high-looping and capped handle, helmet mouth, and reeded foot ring. A large and impressive baroque pewter Chalice with lid, made in Germany dated 1724 / ANNO 1733!

With a large inscription in fine writing and here dated ANNO 1733 by the owner, but on the stamps inside the lid, the maker has dated it 1724. Maker is 'Morten Muhlhiesen Smidt' - the original note with a detailed description of the maker etc. in German comes with the sale...

Very Rare antique museum quality Ceylonese, Sinhalese aristocrat knife—dagger Piha Kaetta, Sri Lanka-Ceylon, Kandyan period, 18th century A.D.

The hilt is of a very rare form, finely carved of bone in the shape of a mythical bird, the Sérapéṅdiya. It is mounted at the base with a shaped and engraved silver ferrule.

A slightly curved single-edged steel blade of typical form is cut on each side with a twin fuller along the back edge and clad with silver chased with scales patter...

A large Alberello vase or jar in choice condition, probably Sicilian or Spanish and dating to the later 17th. century.

Finely decorated with maganese blue on a white ground with floral motifs. The alberello of a waisted form.

Size: c. 23,7 cm. tall - very large for these.

Beautiful and very early Italian Majolica Faience, Apothecary Jar, marked Bassano and dated to the year 1715!

Early dated European Apothecary jars are very rarely found and this is a great specimen in blue and white glaze and Gothic writing. The mixture held in the jar was 'Sempe De Portulaca'. Albarello shape and quite large.
