A nice pair of Danish Neolithic axes dating to 4th-3rd mill BC.

Late 19th century Chinese scholar jadeite seal of trapezoid section. The impression of the seal is shown on the first photo (image is flipped left to right to present the image as it will actually print on paper). Natural untreated jadeite of mottled light green color, a few natural fissure lines. The bottom is carved with 4 sunken characters, traces of red seal paste in the grooves. These four points were found in the Arkansas River area of southeast Colorado and are from the old-time collection of Arley Hudson. The longest one is 1 1/8". All are very thin and expertly chipped. They are from the Mississippian Period C1000AD.

DESCRIPTION: A large wooden scholar’s brush used to paint large calligraphy. Thick black bristles are gathered into a bulbous wood ferrule, turned from the same wood as the handle. The tip of the handle is pierced for hanging. A very nice old brush, good for display in large brush pots; 19th C., normal wear as would be expected. DIMENSIONS: 16” long (41 cm).

An intriguing and extremely rare Late Shan bronze opium weight of a U tail Hamsa bird c. 1800, but without any kind of ridges or spikes to ether neck or head!
The weight can be classified along with the later Shan bronze weights with hexagonal bases (See Gear group 1+2), but not published in this beautiful bird form...
