Beautifully made, excellent lacquer work, wonderful piece in Japanese taste, some insect damage as can be seen on photos. Signed in rectangular reserve with 2 characters possibly reading KOTO followed by red seal. Length 3.38 inches.

Rare pair of China, Chrysanthemum Bowls or dishes, China, for ritual purpose, Ming Dynasty, c. 15th. century AD.

Ritual low food bowls or dishes for a rich Ming dynasty tomb, shaped in relief after the Chrysanthemum flower with a glaze of torquise and olive colours. Quite rarely seen as a large pottery model!

Size: Each dish measure around 130 mm. in diameter.

Condition: Extremely fine intact with a nice crackled glaze patina...

A Chinese, underglazed blue and white, lidded container with a scrolling floral decoration; C18th. Dimensions; approximately 6cm diameter. Condition; good, with some age-related wear and abrasions to the rim. Provenance; purchased from Peter Crabbe Antiques, 2005. A Chinese, dark brown glazed, two handled jar from the Sui-Tang dynasty. The ovoid shaped jar is supported by a short, flat foot, and covered by a brown glaze which appears black where it is applied more thickly...

A rare and quite attractive set of two knives and a sicle type of cutter (3), knapped in finely patinated Silex, Egyptian stoneage / Neolithic period, 5200 - 4000 BC.

These comes from an old French collection and the two knives with tags in white and black ink giving the finding place to 'Fayoum' and 'Le Fayoum' - a region just south of Cairo, close to the Nile.

Rarely seen and a must for collectors of Egypt antiquities.

Beautiful pair of vintage open work (with twisted wire) floral, cloisonné vases circa 1980. Perfect condition, with stunning and subtle enamel work. I have visited enamel making workshops in China and the skill and patience it takes produce one piece is amazing. H: 12.5cm/4.9in and D: 7cm/2.8in.

Ancient Egyptian artifacts from the Predynastic Period, specifically the Naqada II (Gerzean) era, which dates back to around 3600 - 3150 B.C. The artifact is a hand-carved war mace head made of reddish-brown stone, possibly Breccia. The mace head has a globular shape with a large cylindrical perforation in the center, which tapers towards one end. The base of the hole is carved with a pronounced reinforced rim, which was used to attach the head securely to a wooden handle...

Superb quality prehistoric, European stone hand axe-celt, Stone Age, Neolithic Period, dating from 3600 BC to 2200 BC.

This hand ax is extremely well-knapped and polished from creamy-beige flintstone. Its thick-butted form has a convex, almost semi-circular, nicely polished blade with a finely profiled cutting edge. During the Neolithic era in northwestern Europe, people relied heavily on a variety of tools to aid them in their daily lives...

Antique Japanese bronze koro (censer) in the form of the trickster, Tanuki. In this depiction, Tanuki takes the form of a monk with a wide hat on. Fine details of his fur and vines of grape leaves wraps around him (fittingly as Tanuki is fond of wine). The leaves on the vine and on his hat are made of cloisonné in various fall colors. There is a raised cartouche on the bottom. The hat can be removed to put incense inside the Tanuki container...

Ancient European, Celtic Hallstatt culture, from the late Bronze Age, dating back to approximately 1200-800 B.C. It is a well-preserved example of a bronze socketed spearhead. The spearhead is superbly cast and hand-finished, featuring a faceted petaloid blade head with a thick midrib that tapers to a point. The blade has a hollow tapered socket that bisects it to the tip, and there are two pierced holes below the blade on each side, designed for attachment to a spear shaft...

This is a remarkable antique Chinese Blue and White porcelain Ginger Jar from the Qing Dynasty Kangxi Period (1662-1722 A.D.). It features a broad-shouldered, globular body that sits on a ring foot and has a short neck and a slightly flared mouth. The body is finely hand-painted underglaze in bright shades of cobalt blue with a continuous landscape scene depicting scholars in a garden surrounded by trees and rocks...
