Here one of the players plays shen (a bamboo instrument first produced in China in 7th century) and the other one sounds a massive drum with mitsudomoe crest (three comma-shaped figures in a circle). A Chinese abacus with Huanghuali wood frame and beads, the back board is of soft wood; the rods are of bamboo except two metal ones. Late Qing Dynasty. Condition: minor chips and cracks on wood and bamboo rods as shown on enlargements; nice patina. Size: 13-3/8"X6-3/4"X1-1/8".

The quality of the carving is extraordinary. This bamboo brush pot comes from an old German collection, there still is an old inventory number to the base of the piece. There is a Chinese inscription to the piece which can be translated as follows : "the boat is ready to go to heaven, the prince will go seek help from god". Qing Dynasty, nineteenth century or earlier. H : 14,4 cm. Diameter : 10,9 cm. Condition : Perfect with a nice patina.

Burmese carved and painted marble head of Buddha, beautiful serene expression, exquisitely subtle details for example the carved arching brows and slightly smiling mouth, black hair with traces of gold, 18th century. Absolutely beautiful sofa in a variation of Belter's Rosalie pattern. It was made between 1850 and 1860 and is typical of Henry Belter's wonderful laminated furniture for which he is so famous. It measures 42" tall x 74" long x 34" deep. The coloring and graining of the rosewood is just wonderful, and this would make a fantastic addition to any parlor or living room

Chinese porcelain teapot with a ribbed body. A lovely scene depicting daily garden life with men and women surround the body. A bat hovers over symbolizing good fortune. There is some expected age related wear to the gold, but otherwise in good condition, no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, it measures 5" high x 5" diameter (7" across if including the spout). Circa 1900.

Chinese Green and yellow glazed Pottery Figure, two(2) men with large fish , 7" high, 3" wide, 3" deep, 3 1/4" diameter-bottom. There are some glaze chips and tight glaze hairline about 2" long around back side of the neck of the standing man behind.

Chinese Porcelain turquoise color man Figure sitting on the rock, 3" high, 2 3/4" wide, 1 1/2" deep, made before 1920's. His nose and one(1) foot got stuck during firing in the kiln, when this figure was removed from the other object, he lost his side of nose and one(1) foot. Impressed mark "China" on the unglazed bottom.

Large green glazed Shiwan pottery teapot in the shape of a water bucket with a pour spout, small lid, and carrying handle. In very good condition save for a tiny flea bite on the spout, it measures about 10.5” high (to top of handle) x 9" diameter (10” across including spout). Dates circa 1885.

This is a design for a kimono textile that has skillfully incorporated the stylized woven fabric texture as part of the design as seen in the central field of flowering iris plants. The upper field appears to be a design of snowflakes, and the lower of an abstract water pattern. This was probably a leaf from an album of kimono designs...

Lovely ribbed opaque glass biscuit jar with large applied glass flower on front. The frame needs resilvering, but the rest of the jar is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It measures 8" tall to the top of the handle x 5 1/4" diameter on the bottom.
