A Suanzi wood scholar tray was in rectangular form.
Decently preserved in nice patina, the wood tray was found on the reverse side with inscription attributed to an official of Japanese occupation district in China during World War Two.
During that periods, the Japanese invasion troops undertook the task of finding Chinese antiques back to Japan.
The tray was sent as a gift in great respect due to the excellent craftsmanship on the carving of the inscription...

Early 19th century lacquered wood netsuke of a boy climbing onto a huge double gourd. Nice subject (most probably a reference to a rebus), excellent face with a wide smile. Wood is lacquered in Negoro style - red lacquer over black, so as it wears the black and later wood start showing. Wear consistent with age, wonderful patina. Length 1.85 inches.

Early 19th century iron Japanese sword fuchi (bordering piece between the sword guard and the handle) with inlaid multimetal design of a boar running among pine trees. Excellent quality work with gilding and copper and silver inlays. Length 1.5 inches.

This is Indigo dye cotton & katazome dotyubaori coat textile in Edo period(1800)1868). The material is thick cotton in Edo period. Textile seems to be hand spun and woven¡It is very impressive, and beautiful. You can wear it. There is a little, thin stain. However, there is no damage, and the state is very good. With a very nice contiuous river landscape scene. Probably mid Qing Dynasty, maybe the signature to the back of the piece gives a more pecise result concerning the dating of the piece. H : 16,7 cm. Condition : Not artifically polished like often seen on Bamboo brush pots. Nice, naturally grown patina. Some old superficial dry - cracks. Definitely not a single of these cracks extens until the inside of the bamboo body. Provenance : Old German collection.

Early 19th century Chinese bronze scroll weight in a shape of a striding qilin. Wonderful depiction of the benevolent beast, superbly captured dynamic posture, great detailing of his scales, face and flames licking its body. This is Furosiki made in the Izumo district for Edo period. This is dyed in Katazome and Hikizome. This is dyed in natural indigo plant and Yamamomo. This has a stain such as the image in some points. And this has some small holes. This shows old form of Izumo Furosiki. As for this, cotton is spun by hand and is thick. Size 99cm x 95cm (38.9 "x 37.4")

A Chinese Early qing era, probably YongZheng period famille rose dish of flower and bird, in good condition

19th century Edo period Japanese bronze kashira (metal pommel at the end of the hilt of a sword) with multimetal inlays depicting wispy clouds supporting a tiger, a shishi and a kirin, all on a punched ground texture called nanako, which means “fish-eggs” as it resembles fine rows of caviar. Unusual combination of animals, wonderfully made piece with crisp metalwork and gilding, in great condition. Length 1 1/4 inches.

This is thick linen Noren used in Shonai area for Edo period. This is dyed with a natural indigo plant densely. As for this, a brown line is cotton. This was used in a merchant's family of Shonai. This does not have a stain and damage. Size 148cm x 91cm (58.2 "x 35.8")

Very unusual late 18th to early 19th century Japanese sword bronze tsuba with cloisonne decoration of a dragon and a tiger about to engage in a fight, the back with design of bamboo and flowering prunus. Wonderful pairing of the two most powerful animals, beautiful crisp work, in excellent condition. Comes in kiriwood box. Height 2.79 inches, width 2.77 inches.

A lidded container in a divided, compressed form of finely, carved bamboo root. Good luck bringing Bats (bianfu) carved in relief decorate the sides and lid. Bottom with a la grec pattern. Mid Qing, around 1800. H 10 cm, W 8.2 cm. Condition: Very good. Traces of wear. One short crack on the middle part of the bottom panel filled.
