An Arita blue & white porcelain dish decorated with a pavilion and poetry, an equestrian and servant in the foreground. The dish is moulded with a shallow ‘rinka’ edge. The back is plain and has three spur marks within the foot-rim.

An identical dish is illustrated in the Shibata Collection Vol.4, #303 where it is dated to 1770~1800.

Approximately 17.8 cm diameter. The dish has some light wear from normal use but is otherwise in fine condition...

Magnificent 18th Century Japanese Edo Period Kakiemon Porcelain Incense Burner with Daruma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. Delicately painted designs in vivid and varied colors. A wonderfully rendered Daruma adorns the cover where the smoke magically appears out of his mouth when incense is burned. A lidded Japanese ewer for serving saki or wine. The white porcelain pot is decorated with cobalt blue and then foliage and friezes were applied using red, green, and gold enamels. The cover has a flattened knob, and is decorated so as to match the body of the vessel. The kettle's body measures about 5 1/2"h x 6"d (with handle 7 1/2"h)(with spout 7 3/4"w), and dates to the second half of the Edo Period. The condition of the ewer is very good with no damage or repairs...

Offered is a superbly painted pair of 18th Century Japanese porcelain cups, made by one of the Arita kilns circa 1730-80.

These cups measure about 8.3 cm wide and about 5.0 cm high; they are a bit larger than teabowls of the period on average, and may have been intended for wine or saké, or for general use. I don't think they ever had saucers...

A pair of earlier Opium weights, denominal 10 Ticals, (weight approx 160 grams and 152 grams), Shan, late 18th. century.

Nice Shan Ducks of a good size, with fine brown patinas. Both on Hexagonal bases one stepped and one decorated on top.

Condition: Choice, very nicely preserved.
