Pair of rare hanging apsaras, also known in Japanese as Kuyo Bosatsu or Hiten. The style of the face, the soft appearance of the hands, and the flowing robes are fine examples of the highest quality in Edo Period Buddhist sculpture. A Staffordshire punch bowl decorated with both freehand painting and the transfer of the Chinese ladies and part of the fence in the center of the bowl. This is an Early 19th century excellently hand-carved Netsuke depicting a standing Scholar who is holding a scepter on his right hand. By his side, there is a Karako who is looking up to the scholar and holding a Jar. Intricate detail and rich patina. Signed Genyosai (Minkoku) on an oval reserve on the scholar's back. Netsuke measures 0,76 inches (2.0cm) wide, and 1.90 inches (4.8cm) tall.

A porcelain plate with a gilt edge, embossed border, the molded edge of the well decorated with elaborate gilding centering on a hand painted botanical specimen of a Feverfew; a member of the daisy family. The plant name is written in script in red enamel and the number “857” in gilt are written on the back.
