An antique Japanese Choba Tansu (merchant chest) made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Hikute style handles. Two front sliding doors open to 10 drawers of varying sizes including a large open compartment where business books and documents were stored.

A Chinese rank badge with a peacock set at the center standing on a rock formation surrounded with flowing waters. The peacock is surrounded by various auspicious Chinese motifs such as peonies and bats set under a dark navy color silk. Age: 20th century Size: length 14.9" width 13.9"

19th century wooden netsuke of a Buddhist monk arm wrestling with an oni on a huge lotus leaf. Wonderful subject, excellent carving with superb faces and great detailing of their limbs and fingers. Himotoshi is formed by the lotus stem on the bottom, beautiful patina. Signed RAKUSHI on the bottom - judging by the subject and the first character of the signature, the artist belonged to the Rakumin School and was obviously a master carver. Length 1 1/2 inches.
Antique Korean ceramic bottle, glazed with rich white glaze with brown crackle. The cylindrical body tapers dramatically to the thin neck and dramatic rim. The foot is slightly recessed with glazed center and natural bare edges.

Victorian Classical sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Tapering and fluted ovoid body, beaded helmet mouth, and high-looping double-scroll handle. Four cast leafing scroll supports. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 12420 (first produced in 1895), and director’s letter T (1892-1902). Very good condition.

19th century boxwood netsuke of snickering Hotei covering his mouth with an open fan and holding kakhara in the other.
