A Japanese Arita lobed dish decorated with a dragon descending from clouds, grasping the pearl of wisdom. The back with a fuku mark. The dish dates from 1750~1790. A similar design to Chinese examples of the Yongzheng period.

A large porcelain Jubaku consisting of four tiered containers with cover decorated with a karakusa ground in yellow and green enamels inset with auspicious figures of Chinese boys, karako, and reserves containing Peonies and rocks, traditional symbols of the arrival of Spring. These jubako was used specifically during the New Year festival.
The containers measure approximately 25cm high and 18.5cm in diameter and weighs 2.810kg in total weight.

Pair of Lancaster sterling silver ice tongs. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1900. U-form with beaded stem and floral terminal. One jaw ovoid and scalloped with ornamental piercing; the other a cast claw with five talons. A nice early piece in this pattern, which was first produced in 1897. Fully marked including maker’s and retailer’s (Shreve & Co.) stamps. Condition: Nice definition. Taut and springy.

LIAO Dynasty Terracotta Buddhist Votive Plaque/Amulet, China, AD. 907 - 1125, with very fine details. Nicely mounted on a wooden base. Large Chinese embroidered silk badge of a three toed dragon. The 3-toed dragon is the symbol of government ministers and public officials. This piece could have been from a wall hanging or off of a room screen. Color of badge is even; glare from the glass is making it look darker or lighter in areas. This badge measures 20.5" high and was placed on a cream colored closely cropped brushed velvet material, then framed. Framed measurements are: 26.5" wide x 33" high.
