Antique hakama (trousers) worn by a Noh theatre actor. Decorated all over with a design of gold dragons and lattice work on a dark blue ground. Traditional squared form with pleating and wide white cotton ties. These hakama would have been part of the Noh theatre ôguchi (costume).

Rare Chinese Tang dynasty YUE YAO stem bowl with incised motive at the center. 14,5 diameter. 8,5 cm high. bowl has chipped at the upper rim and the base rim on restorations.

Lovely oval lobed shape enamel and silver compact, painting of group of Putti holding hands dancing encircling a tree with landscape in the background. The painting is framed with silver engraving and carnelian blue enamel accents. Stamped 800 silver and a duck and makers seal inside with the print of a doll. Dimensions 3 1/2"L x 2 1/2"W. Condition Report: Excellent condition, this fine compact should be Austrian in origin.

This is Kara-Momen(China-Cotton) Obi- belt used in Japan for Edo period. As for this, rare how to weave is very impressive. A Qing Ge Qianlong era Ge Style glaze bowl

A intricately formed obidome (kimono rope ornament) of a golden woven basket overflowing with chrysanthemums of silver and golden tones. Chrysanthemums are a symbol of steadfast friendship. Signed by the artist. Size: W. 4.3cm. H. 3.3cm. Condition: Natural ageing. No repairs.

Antique Japanese pair of bronze three section lanterns. Tall finials in flame shapes adorn temple style lids and small bronze bells hanging from the edges. Would have originally been used with well light candles, the pair is perfectly matched. The caged midsection has reticulated spiral design walls, which stands on large bell shaped feet. A pair of English Georgian period sterling silver footed salt cellars or dishes with clear glass liners, fully hallmarked for London, England 1771-2. This antique pair of 2-1/2" diameter salt stands or dips are 1-1/2" high, and they have three hoof design feet. The liners are clear blown glass with a polished pontil, and these salt dips have a maker's mark for Nathaniel Appleton and Anne Smith (London, est. 1771)...

This is kome-bukuro (sack of grain)of the patchwork dedicated to the Shinto shrine of Edo period(1830-1868). It is weaving of silk kinran and ginran of Nishijin textile. It is very wonderful and beautiful. There is no stain. There is a rubbed little part. However, it is very excellent. The lining is cotton. All the parts are very wonderful textile. This is a highly detailed Japanese Satsuma vase from the great Meiji artist Shizan. Look close at the images because the fine detail is as good as most of the finer pieces and easily looked over. The vase stands 4 3/4 inches tall. The vase is in excellent condition. Price is firm.

Beautiful art work of Tosa Mitsutoki* embroidered with a theme from the Noh play "Takasago" on an antique fukusa, a Japanese gift cover. The signature, seal and other characters are embroidered. To find a signature on a fukusa from this period (late Edo) is very rare; in fact, I have never seen one. The characters (at the bottom left side) read "e-dokoro azukari" which is the title for the head of the Imperial Painting Bureau...
