The quality of this small elephant is excellent. Standing foursquare with head turned to one side. The body and the separately cast reliquary - monstrance inlaid, brightly enameled, multi coloured and richly ornamented. Nineteenth century or a little bit earlier. L : 14,8 cm. H : 19,4 cm Condition : Excellent with no damage. The reliquary - monstrance incomplete ( please see the last enlargement ).

Up for auction sale is an 19th century Han Chinese woman's surcoat, black silk ground with intricate embroideries on collar, sleeve bands and trims; 5 gilt ball-and-loop toggle buttons. The robe is overall in very good condition, clean, very light stains in sleeves and minor tear in the right armpit. Measurements : Top collar to bottom hem 38.5", Sleeve to sleeve 57" stretch, sleeve width 20.5", width between arm pits 30" narrowest, width of hem 38" widest.

A small Japanese Arita kilns blue and white porcelain sauce dish, or mamezara, of mokko-gata form. Namban (or Nanban, Southern barbarian) decoration of a foreign figure, with dog, falconing in picturesque landscape. Painterly shironuki decoration in the cavetto of cranes flying among clouds. Edo period, Circa 1800. Good condition for its age, with two small chips inside the foot rim and a small glaze abrasion just above the foot rim. About 3 15/16 inches (10 cm) square.

Chinese Qing dynasty bronze censer / Incense burner, Xuande mark. 17,2 cm wide. 11,5 cm mouth diameter. 7 cm high. 1078 gram weight. Good conditions .

19th century long wooden netsuke of nyoi - a Buddhist scepter carved as a length of a reishi fungus with three fungus heads. Did not photograph well. Nyoi, or Ruyi scepter is a traditional symbol of scholarship and transmission of knowledge, and reishi fungus represents the fabled Fungus of Immortality. Carved out of dense beautiful brown rosewood, elegant design in Japanese taste, great depiction of fungus texture, wonderful patina and excellent sheen to the surface from being handled...

Early 19th century netsuke of a boy holding onto a bamboo branch next to a large ball. Netsuke illustrates one of the paragons of filial virtue, that of Moso - a young scholar who went into the woods in the middle of the winter to look for bamboo shoots, a favorite dish of his ailing and dying mother. Bamboo does not grow in the snow but the Gods were moved by his filial piety and allowed bamboo shoots to suddenly spring from the ground. The large ball probably represents a snowball...

A lovely large and quite scarce terracotta fertility figure of female form, Bajaur (Indus Valley), c. 3000-2500 BC.

A hollow mould-made Indus Valley red terracotta statuette modelled in a stylised manner with applied facial features and ridges of a broad flat head wto illude hair straws. Interesting and rare variant.

Condition: Choice for type, with usual losses to extremeties in antiquity. No repairs...

Fresh and Pretty American Art Nouveau sterling silver water pitcher, ca 1910. Retailed by Udall & Ballou in New York. Lobed and ovoid body with helmet mouth, domed foot, and high-looping handle. Applied and chased flower and frond clusters on body and foot, and branch rims. Fully marked including retailer’s stamp and no. 1036. Very good condition.

Shapely antique Chinese monochrome porcelain small vase, ox-blood glaze. Period: 19th century, Qing Dynasty. Size: Height 4.5"

This is Rikushaku-kanban where cotton cloth spun by hand for Edo period was used for. This cotton has the good feel. As for this, a crest is a letter of Kotobuki. The letter of Kotobuki expresses words and a ceremony of the celebration. A letter and the pattern of the cross filler are dyed in Tsutsugaki. This has a stain in several places. Size 150cm x 129cm (59 "x 50.7")

"Silver" hallmarks on the bottom of the saucers. Cups have gold-plating interiors. Probably Meiji Period. Size: Saucer: 8.5 cm diam. Cup: 5.2 cm diam. Condition: Very good. Some oxidized wear.

Exquisite Georgian rock crystal riviere set in silver with a 15k gold mount and an open back. Rock Crystal is transparent quartz often seen in fine antique jewelry. An exceptionally large and attractive Linga / Lingam, depicting the head of Shiva, Gupta period, Madhya Pradesh, 4th.-5th. century AD.

The face of the Hindu god Shiva emerges from this linga, the emblem through which he is most commonly worshiped. Most lingas are non-figural, their abstracted phallic shape alluding to Shiva’s transcendent power and generative energy. Here, Shiva is also represented in anthropomorphic form, manifesting himself to devotees...

This is another antique wine bottle of the Song Dynasty from our collection.

This large wine bottle is about 1000 years old and has been made in the Ji Kiln. It has a dark glazed body with an some unglazed dragon / phoenix decoration.

It is in good condition. There are only some little spoils of time and a little scratch ( please watch photos )...
