Beautiful and unusual altar table with pink marble top, late 19th early 20th century. It is made of rosewood and beautifully carved with peony and iris flowers and dragons. There is a scrolling pattern on each side of the altar. There is a rectilinear pattern under the table top. It measures 35" wide 19" deep 32.5"' tall.
This attractive antique full length 18K watch chain has alternating carved ornamental solid gold by-pyramid link (what we call a "fancy" link) which connects to a pair of linked rings, which connects to simple solid gold by-pyramid link. These extremely decorative pair of food containers are beautifully ornamented. A turquoise background, these cloisonne containers model a beautiful array of blue, yellow, and red shades of swirling chimera and flower design. Made of bronze, The containers have one compartment each. Lid opens at top. The "shou" symbol on lids represent longevity.

An antique Japanese large Kyoto Mizuya Tansu (kitchen chest) in 2 sections that was made of Hinoki (Cypress), Kakinoki (Persimmon) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. The center drawers have a very unique design made by the decorative Persimmon accents making each one look like a gift box. All sliding doors have Persimmon runners used to smooth out the slide and help prevent wear at the bottom.

It is said that the dragon summons rain and extinguishes great fires.
There are light stains ,fading and scuffs from age, but they are not noticeable...
This is tsutsugaki & handwriting fireman's cotton coat sashiko hanten coat of a splendid firefighter of the late Tokugawa period of the Edo era(1800-1867).
This is a very advanced technique. And the entire surface is stitched with sashiko. The lining is indigo dyed...
