Japanese 2 section kimono tansu. Made with Kiri (paulownia) wood, all natural finish. The upper section holds 8 drawers, which is considered an auspicious number. The bottom section contains 2 drawers with warabite pulls mounted on pierced metal plates. The piece also contains a secret hidden compartment beneath the bottom drawer.

A Tea Pot by Otagaki Rengetsu with a handle like bamboo root inscribed with a poem which reads:
Ko no kimi wa
medetaki fushi wo
kasane tsutsu
sue no yo nagaki
tameshi nari keri.
This translates as:
Our young bamboo
piling up happy knots
year upon year—
its tips reaching high
a paragon to us.
It is roughly 10 cm (4 inches) diameter. And comes enclosed in a wooden box annotated by Koen of Jinkoin temple, where Rengetsu lived...

The body is divided into five panels by vertical lines of applied studs, alternate panels being decorated in underglaze cobalt - blue with a chrysanthemum spray and alternate with a lingzhi fungus motive. A beautiful Edwardian period rectangular side table with a Demi-lune cut out along the center front. The table top has a stylish raised edge around its perimeter. Beneath the top is a cyma cut skirt which centers two long candle drawers on either end. The table is held up by four square tapering congruent legs. Designed to be light weight and portable.

A Very Fine Sea-Green Celadon Foliate Rim Bowl:
Korea, Koryo Dynasty, 11th-12th Century:
The wide bowl set on a short ring foot and incised on a interior with a single ring
and decorated a 6 foliages on the mouth rim,
appied evenly by a beautiful sea-green celadon glaze overall, ring foot inglazed.
This bowl is in very fine condition whitout any cracks and repairs
but it has a glaze crack extensively across the interior only --not a body crack-please see #3 photos)...
Offered here is an outstanding Greek Apulian Kylix. The kylix has a splendid body form with beautiful intact handles that curl slighly upward at the tips. The feature of this piece is the nice band of grapevines that surrounds the piece on both the inside and the outside. In addition, this kylix features Medusas' stamp, which adds even more value and beauty to this piece. There is little wear to this piece and it remains fully intact and without restoration...

Up for sale is this wonderfully textured 19th century Japanese cast iron tea kettle made by noted Kyoto-school tetsubin craftsman Kibundo ( 1812-1892 ).
It is cast in high relief with the image of a landscape and plants.
This fine kettle bears the body-mark “Kibundo zo” and a remnant of the square seal mark of Kibundo on the bottom.
The quality of the relief casting is superb...
