Chinese antique pair of large stone lions (ShiShi) in dramatic traditional poses. The male lion has it's paw on the embroidered ball - when placed outside a buiding, this represents protection of the material structure. The female lion has it's paw on a playful cub - when placed outside a building, this represents protection of the building's occupants.

Small seal of square base, with a snarling tiger on its top. Bronze, with partly encrusted reddish-green patina. China, Ming Dynasty or earlier. Height: 2.9 cm. Very good condition.

Small relief fragment in the shape of a head of Buddha, eyes closed, his slightly smiling face reflecting a profound inner serenity. Sandstone. Cambodia, Khmer Period, Bayon Style, 13th century. The piece is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Height (without stand): 12 cm. Erosion due to great age, trace of glue on the lower left side, otherwise very good condition.

Antique Japanese iron tetsubin, or tea kettle, with a bell shaped body that flutes out towards the rounded base, a tall spout, archaic designs along the rim with a lid bearing the artist's signature. The handle is "mokko" shaped referring to the Japanese Quince fruit.

Japanese antique 2-section cha tansu (tea chest). The frame of this chest is made of solid keyaki (elm) wood and the front has persimmon wood veneer with dramatic grain. The top section has a compartment covered with four small sliding panels and a large compartment with glass sliders for display. Inside the glass display area are stepped shelves, a smaller square glass door compartment, another compartment with batik covered sliding panels depicting Mt. Fuji...

Antique Japanese 2-section isho tansu (clothing chest), made all of kiri (paulownia) wood. The top section has two large full width drawers. The bottom section has one large full width drawer and one medium drawer. The lower right hand side has a safe box with heavy iron work on the hinged door. Inside are two small drawers. The front of the chest has beautiful heavy iron hardware including warabite shaped drawer pulls...

A Longquan Celadon dish, covered overall with olive green glaze, founded from a deep of sea in Selayar Island, South Sulawesi. Condition restored a nail chip missing to rim, otherwise in good condition. Song/Yuan Dynasty. Diameter: 21.2 cm

A nice and elegant shaped of black glaze ewer, with four lugs to the shoulder and covered overall with rich black tone. Song/Yuan Dynasty possibly Fujian ware. Founded in South-Sulawesi. Condition is good, only tiny re-touched to rim. Height: 14 cm, Maximum wide; 18 cm.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches and the cup is 1 3/4 inches high. The cup shape is blown out and scalloped on the rim. The saucer is shaped the same way. The ground color is apple green enamel. Delicate gilded swags encircle both pieces. The handle, interior of the cup and well of the saucer are richly gilded. Condition: Excellent

Fine Early 19th Century New England area Hepplewhite style Federal sideboard. Mahogany veneer with what appears to be chestnut secondary wood. Exquisite gilt brass rosette pulls, notched cross banding inlay, reeded columns with turned legs, and a unique & quite large bin like center drawer flanked by a cabinet door to the left and a large drawer to the right, as well as 3 standard drawers. An exceptional and timeless sideboard, in traditional early American taste.

Antique Japanese ikebana (flower arrangement) basket, comprised of tightly hand-woven, thin strips of bamboo. The basket has an hourglass figure with a wide mouth and slightly fluted lip. The handles is formed with gnarled wisteria and bamboo branches, tightly wound with twisted bamboo. The base of the foot is recessed, with a 3-character signature.

An unusual Japanese ikebana (flower arrangement) basket. Hand-woven with sections of bamboo, and interesting wisteria branch accents on the front and backside. The sides are woven with "Gypsy ear" ring handles. The basket is formed with a large, rounded body, a short foot, and a wide open mouth. Full of character and charm.

Antique Chinese silk robe, made with light burgundy silk fabric, edged in gold embroidered silk. The backside is ornately hand-embroidered with auspicious objects and symbols within flaming rings. The central image is a large yin-yang outlined by gold embroidered scrolls. With some areas of wear. Some fading and losses.

Embossed pendant decorated with two figures of deities, one male wearing a dhoti and the other, a female, entirely naked, each with an aureola, standing in front of what seems to be an altar. A loop on top allowed attachment to a necklace. The pendant is made of 18 K gold, with remnants of soil encrustations. Graeco-Buddhist art, Gandhara, 1st to 3rd century. Height: 5.5 cm. Lower part slightly bent (no damage), otherwise very good condition...

An Arita blue & white porcelain dish decorated with a pavilion and poetry, an equestrian and servant in the foreground. The dish is moulded with a shallow ‘rinka’ edge. The back is plain and has three spur marks within the foot-rim.

An identical dish is illustrated in the Shibata Collection Vol.4, #303 where it is dated to 1770~1800.

Approximately 17.8 cm diameter. The dish has some light wear from normal use but is otherwise in fine condition...
