A Blanc de Chine Libation Cup. Of rhinoceros horn form on one side with a tiger seated below flowering prunus whilst looking up at a Dragon. The other with a deer below pine and a stork. Chinese 18thC. Height 7.2 cm. Length 13.7 cm. Condition: there is a shallow glaze flake 0.4 cm and 0.3 cm to the rim (See last image) and a small flake in the foot.
A small lotus form moulded porcelain saucer dish painted centrally with a man on horseback bordered with eight radiating lotus leaves and flowers and above each is a stylized crane with opened wings.
A larger dish bordered with similar crane motifs on a diaper ground see item 2234 (page 1032) "Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum" Istanbul VOL 3 by Regina Krahl with John Ayers (1986)

A well-carved nephrite jade plaque depicting a coiled, sinuous dragon paired with a phoenix and spiral-incised "bi" disc. The phoenix and "bi" disc have been covered with a gold lacuer gilding. A seated figure of an emaciated male holding a tube above a small pot. The upper tip of the tube (or staff) is missing, an ancient loss. A minor chip to the end of the nose. Extensive deposits, as can be seen in the photos. The figure measures 9" in height. An expressive,authentic figure.

A fine and rare Chelsea porcelain figure of winter. The subject is an older man, obviously in distress, wearing only a wrap, and standing beside a brazier. This is a classical representation of "Winter", part of the Seasons group.

This is tsutsugaki & handwriting fireman's cotton coat sashiko hanten coat of a splendid firefighter of the late Tokugawa period of the Edo era(1800-1867).
This is a very advanced technique. And the entire surface is stitched with sashiko. The lining is indigo dyed.

A Chinese porcelain baluster shaped vase (without its original cover) painted in under glaze blue in early 18th Century style with birds and flowers (including stylized peony and lotus). The base carries a four character Kangxi mark but this item was made later, for export, during either the late 19th or early 20th Century.

This is one of the most beautiful and early clubs that I have handled in more than forty years. I am conservatively dating it to the 19th century, without being more specific, although I believe it could well (and accurately) be described as early in the century. This is a Japanese antique indigo dy sakiori noragi hanten of paper, Hemp, cotton.
It is an item from the Edo to Meiji era.
This item was made in Sado region of Japan.
It is a wonderful sakiori noragi haten, which is woven with very finely twisted indigo dye, hemp yarn and paper twist.
The rubbing of the thread due to use has a warm touch.
And the indigo dye lumps seem to look into the very beautiful sea.
