This ring has a beautiful design and is a size 9. It is large, measuring 1 1/4" (from top to bottom). The band measures 1/4", wrapping around to display its swirly, modernist design. It reminds me of a miniature, wraparound bracelet, as the top and bottom "swirls" are not fused together. It is marked MEXICO and 925. It has good heft and is in excellent condition.

An unusual 18K yellow gold pendant in the Sputnik design by H Stern. Most examples of Sputnik jewelry are set with multi-colored gemstones, but occasionally a piece turns up with a single color—in the case amethyst. The design was created in the 1950s to highlight the colored gemstones available from the Stern mines in Brazil. A large cabochon of Baltic amber with a deep, nicely distributed color is mounted within a sterling floral surround; the mounting has a closed back. The amber exhibits hardly any wear. The back has a working original rollover clasp as well as the maker’s mark of Niels Erik From of Denmark. The pin measures about 1 5/8 inches across.
