Lovely composition of a banana leaf over a basket of cherries. There is an inscription with a cartouche below. It is mounted on teal paper and cream paper with a geometric pattern with flowers. It measures 17.75" wide 26.5" tall image, overall 22" wide by 74" long.

This child's waistcoat is from Indus Kohistan, located in the province of Pakistan formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP), recently re-named Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is a superb piece, embroidered on black cotton fabric and embellished with coins, multicolored glass seed beads and pearly buttons. Japanese Boy's Day samurai Yoroi and Kabuto (armor,helmet) set. Musha ningyo (Samurai dolls), Yoroi and Kabuto (helmet), swords, banners and carps are a part of the display used for the Boy's Day in Japan.
Culturally, the Japanese emphasize anything to do with children. The Girl's day with hina dolls is in March. The warrior's set like this will inspire boys in their manliness and hopefully bravery, discipline and honor codes come with it.

3 pieces Japanese Kutani Earthenware Tea Set, Ca. 1940's, consisting of Tea Pot(8" high), Sugar with cover(7 1/4" high), Creamer(5 1/2" high) with beautiful floral branches and bird flying between enclosed panels with overglazed brick red and brilliant green color on the crazed glaze. Tea pot spout is glued small piece together around 1/2" area, handle of Sugar bowl is glued together. Marked on the bottom "Great Japan Kutani made".

This 1930’s ivory carpenter is 9 ¼” high, 3 ¼” wide and 3 ¼” thick. It depicts a smiling carpenter carrying a wood bucket and cloth bag on his right arm and holding a saw in his left hand. His tool boxes are set in front of him. The artist’s signature “Gyokushi” is on the bottom. It is a well carved piece in great condition.

This is a textile piece from Afghanistan, probably from Bamiyan province. It is a child's vest which features very intricate embroidered patterns in bright colors and in cotton floss, in cross stitch. The top is embellished with silver metallic threads and the vest is trimmed with green glass beads on the sides, center and bottom. The back is a purple cotton fabric. The lining on the inside is a blue cotton fabric with diamond motifs...
A finely carved Chinese agate in the form of a popular motif often seen in Tibet which is the windhorse. The use of Tibetan motifs in Chinese arts began during the Ming dynasty with patronage of the Tibetan high lamas and continued onwards into the Qing Dynasty. The windhorse is carrying a pecha or sutra text, a signature motif often found on windhorses. The stylized ribbons and the waves are done in the Chinese style.
