Small antique tribal Persian chanteh (bag). Hand woven of wool in lovely deep indigo blue and brown. A central rectangle of deep blue has six vertical bands of white with
interlocking motifs perhaps of rams horns, a powerful masculine symbol. Framing this is a wide dark brown band which is subtly woven with repeating protective eye motifs. The back of the bag is woven a solid deep brown color. Circa 1900.

This is a very fine cloisonne vase with very fine work. It stands only 3 3/4 inches tall but it is loaded with fine details, enameling and sculpted wire work. The vase does have a very slight bend on the bottom rim and there is a small amount of enamel damage that is hard to notice.

She wears an elaborate blue silk kimono with cherry blossoms, and patterns of trickling water in wonderful gold thread, paired with a bright orange obi with gold thread chrysanthemums. A very large Chinese porcelain wucai enameled ewer or wine pot of compressed ovoid form with cover decorated with an overall brocade pattern composed of hexagonal cells each containing an enamelled four petal flower inset with two large reserves containing respectively Camelias and Rocks, and Flowering Plum and Rocks. The body of the ewer is comparatively thinly potted, and the handle and spout are simply luted to the body with slip. The ewer was made for the Japanese market...

Stunning cherry blossom crest lock plates and mock (melon style) handles. The top right section has a smaller drawer and locking door with two small drawers hidden away inside.

Sensuous and serene, this covered pewter jar is quiet, subtle, and sophisticated with it sparse plant motif which climbs up the wall onto the lid. The patina on a supple orange peel skin evokes soft tones of solitude. The underside is marked with Chinese symbols. Excellent condition in spite of tarnish.
