Antique Japanese Katakuchi of Old Karatsu Ware near the end of 19th century (about 120-130 years ago). Beautiful jasperware wall plaque of a winged lady with a shephard's staff entitled "Pastorale" and signed Stephan Finding and dated 1886. It has very high relief, and the detail is exquisite. This beautiful plaque is one of a pair. The other is also on this web site. They each measure 13" tall x 8" wide in the frame, and 10 1/2" tall x 6" wide without. They are in wonderful condition. Porcelain Chinese figurine of Tsao Kuo Chiu, who is a patron saint of theatrical profession. Richly decorated in polychrome enamels, Tsao Kuo Chiu is one of the 8 Immortals. We have never seen a theatrical monkey at the base, but he is a nice addition to this very unique 19th century Chinese figurine. Marked CHINA on the bottom, we are dating him Circa 1900. In excellent condition, he measures 7.5 inches tall.
