Pair of Edwardian Classical sterling silver candlesticks. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1917. Each: Fluted column and composite Corinthian capital. Bobeche detachable with chamfered rim. DESCRIPTION: A large antique porcelain plate, well decorated with a mythical Kylin gazing upward at a large bird perched in a pine tree. The decoration is in underglazed blue with a clear glaze containing a faint blue tint. The base is unglazed and unmarked showing the finely grained paste. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repairs; wood stand not included. DIMENSIONS: 11 1/4” diameter (28.5 cm) x 2 1/8" high (5.4 cm).

Kurdish antique saddle bag most likely for use on a donkey, made in slit-tapestry technique in a variety of colors, woven in one long piece and the folded over on either side to make two storage pouches. The primary central motif is that of two eight armed stars, below this another half reserve with two half-stars and surrounding it all is a beautiful decorative guard band delineated by narrow fence motifs...

A beautiful three-piece cameo glass set, made by Bohemian master, Moser, around 1920. The vases are signed with the Moser insignia and also with a conjoined 'MK' (for Moser Karlsbad). The vases are in good condition. There is a fabrication flaw (see last picture)

Amber Moser vase decorated with multicolored oak leaves and with 10 applied acorns. The vase is 6 ½" tall and 3 5/8" in diameter. The underside is marked in gold enamel “489/D180.” There are no missing acorns.

Myanmar silver-work is an ancient industry dating back to the 13th Century. Monarchs customarily used silver and gold bowls as rewards for the ministers and the attendants' loyalty and faithfulness to the royal family. Silver items were also a symbol of wealth because only the ministers, the generals and the rich citizens used silver for items such as betel-nut boxes and stands, flower bowls and vases, spittoons, daggers, dagger sheaths, and regalia and waistbands for the kings...

Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain melon shape jar, Ca. later part of 1800's, 11 1/2" high, 8" wide-widest part, 4" diameter-top opening, with overglaze decoration of Antiquities and Chinese style urn with flowers on stand. Smaller chips about 1/8" to 1/4" wide and frits on the top rim inside, and some shallow minor chips and stain spots on the bottom.

Late Meiji to early Taisho (1910s) Japanese boxwood okimono of a sleeping monk. The subject is a metaphor for a failure to reach enlightenment - instead of seeking and understanding the profound power of Buddha’s teaching the monk falls asleep. Nicely carved, wonderful tranquil face, pleasant patina. Signed YOSHIHISA on the bottom - for information on the artist see NETSUKE & INRO ARTISTS AND HOW TO READ THEIR SIGNATURES by George Lazarnick, p. 1232. Height 2 inches.

A beautiful, pillow-shaped, sea-themed Alexandrite-glass vase, made by Moser around 1920. The vase is decorated with hand-painted fish and other marine-based theme. The vase is 7 3/4 inches (20 cm) tall and 7 1/2 inches (19,5 cm) wide (handle-tip to handle-tip). There is a small amount of roughness/chip where one applied handle attaches to vase's body (see last picture). Polished pontil. Unsigned - most likely it was made by Moser.

This Meiji period Japanese netsuke is hand carved and represents a mask of Okame aka Ko-omote the young girl of the Noh theater. Material appears to be ivory.

Japanese Sushi Restaurant Plaque carved of hinoki wood with carved and lacquered characters, details of swirling carved clouds, middle with carved characters lacquered in gold, The bold lettering in the middle says: 鮨 木戸由 Sushi Kidoyosh, one at the far right, for example, it says: 堺静 Sakashizu That's the name of a wholesaler at the famous Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo, so they're likely suppliers or patrons of some kind...

Modern sterling silver serving tray. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1911.  Round with softly faceted well.  Rim same with reeding.  Hallmark includes pattern no. 18083 (first produced in 1911) and director’s letter m (1907-47).  Very good condition and patina.

Presented is this beautiful, iridescent Loetz glass lamp. The glass is in Loetz's 'Ausfuhrung 226' decor (please refer to page 263 of Ricke's book, Loetz Bohemian Glass 1880-1940' for this decor). The lamp is 17 1/2 inches (44,5 cm) tall to the bulb-holder and has an 8-inch (20 cm) square base. The glass part is 10 inches (25 cm) tall and 5 3/4 inches (14,5 cm) wide at the top. There is a small rim-chip on the glass (see picture). As expected, the glass is unmarked...

Chinese Blue and White covered rectangle shape Scholar's Box, Ca. 1880-1920, 2" high maximum, 4 3/8" x 3 1/8" wide, underglaze blue design of the flowers in the basket in the diamond shape cartouche enclosed with geometric blue design of triangle shape borders on four(4) corners, supported by four(4) short feet, bottom is unglazed. There are etched Chinese Characters written inside the bottom of the box and also under the cover. The dome top cover is wrapped a little, doesn't fit tightly...

A gorgeous sterling silver cream ladle rare on two counts. First, Fessenden’s 1910 “Tulip” pattern is very uncommon. Secondly, while spoons were often engraved as souvenir pieces, serving pieces were hardly ever given this treatment. This is the only souvenir cream ladle we’ve seen. The matte gilt bowl is engraved with a very detailed representation of the U.S. Capitol Building underscored by “Washington DC”. The back is hallmarked by Fessenden & Co.
