This black cloth doll is from a private collection in New Hampshire. She is 16" tall and has embroidered face with a pinched raised nose. She has floss hair coming out from around the sewn on gathered bonnet. She is rag stuffed and is very firm. She sits but it is a bit forced maybe because she has been stored flat in a box for many years. She is hand sewn as is her great early dress with a pocket on one side.The dress is without arms but with her black cloth arms it is hard to notice...

Late Qing Dynasty (1890s to 1911) Chinese soapstone seal carved on the top with a crouching chimera with a single horn and bifurcated tail exhaling a cloud of vapor. This is a very beautiful and finely potted Qing dynasty famille noir mille fleurs (Thousand Flowers) plate. It is painted very densely with shades of enameled pink, yellow, blue, brown, white and green with multitude of flowers and plants. It includes peonies, lotus, hydrangea, chrysanthemum, narcissus, daisies, lily, hibiscus, iris and several other flowers covering the entire plate in black background, with the foliage and gold tendrils binding all the flowers together...

Antique Chinese scroll painting of a dramatic waterfall. The water crashes over tiers of craggy rock formations. On one rock two scholarly figures stand and contemplate the scene. Painted in black ink and light colors on paper. Margins on either side of the painting are full of calligraphy. Signed Fu Bao Shi (1904-1965)

Hard porcelain dish from the Arita kilns. Decor painted in cobalt blue underglaze high-fire. A couple of fallow deer are represented in an autumnal landscape. It would seem that the female is reluctant to fall mating because she is lying down while the male at her side rears up desperately to attract attention. In the background clouds (erotic symbol of the "game of clouds and rain") and a maple tree for autumn. On the right a weeping willow tree symbol of lovers...

A large elaborate bronze cloak pin, cast via the lost wax (cire perdue) process with poppy flower shaped terminal.
Used to fasten clothes, in this case due to the unusually heavy fabric and decoration, likely leather for presentation use - perhaps for a very thick cape or leather armor. The lower terminal decorated with knobs and 3 spikes.

The size of bowl: 6 7/8" Dia x 2 1/8" Very unusual Japanese Ko Imari Porcelain Namasu Bowl. The bowl has the design of flower motif in the center with bamboo leaves around. The side wall has two windows of phoenix bird and tropical plants. Bewteen them, gold Karakusa and spider mums design in gold and red. Very well painted. A beautifully limned tinsel, or foil, painting, reverse painted on glass. The subject matter is a white urn, filled with a an array of various flowers, including a large rose and a lily. The period and probably original frame is of high quality.
This good-sized painting is in overall excellent condition, as is the frame. The sight size is 14 5/8" by 12 3/8", and the framed size is 19 5/8" by 17 1/4".

A Very Fine/Rare Korean Celadon Bowl Molded/Lotus Petal/Scroll/Foliage Rim-12th C.
Korea, Goryeo dynasty, 12th century.
The wide shallow bowl with foliage and gently tapering to a raised ring foot, deep molded with design of two lotus flower petals and leaf scrolls, the interior and exterior thin celadon glaze covered overall, with 4 spur marks on base.
It is in good condition, 19cm d. x 6.2cm h.
