A Boxed Set of Four Sterling Silver Napkin Rings by the Noted Victorian Silversmith Hilliard and Thomason and Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1876. The rings are in the shape of a cuff, with buttons and button holes. Maker mark "H & T". Dimensions; 1.75" in diameter x 1.25" high. Weight 4 ounces in total. The rings are in excellent condition, but the box is damaged.

A beautiful Rocco design English chamber stick with snuffer 4”x5.25” Nineteenth Century pewter

This 8" high wooden figure of the sitting Tenjin was carved during the Edo period, the mid 19th century (1850). Tenjin is the Japanese "god" name name given to the Japanese statesman and scholar, Sugawarea Michizane, the 9th century poet and writer of Chinese prose and verse.

Possibly carved from cryptomera wood and darkened with age, this carved figure has both a simplicity and elegance which are, for me, the major characteristics of Japanese asthetics.

Early 19th century marine (walrus tusk) netsuke of a standing oni, its foot on rockery, leaning on a huge war club and eating a rice cake, and a puppy at his feet looking wiistfully at the same cake. Wonderful strong early carving, wonderful face, excellent depiction of its muscular arms and legs. Grainy texture of walrus tusk core can be seen at the bottom and on the back of the carving. himotoshi is formed by natural openings in the carving. Height 2.47 inches.

Very unusual and art deco Taisho Period C.1920 hanging iron lantern. Each of the four panels has a separate scene; one with a bat for good luck, an owl, plum blossoms and paulownia motif. Excellent condition. Ask for shipping quote.

This is an 19th Century finely carved netsuke depicting a Blacksmith sitting on a stool and getting ready to place a shoe on one of the Horse's Hoofs. Japanese Black Lacquer heavy thick Cyprus wood Armor Trunk or Armor Storage Box with heavy black iron mounted, Ca. late 1800's, Meiji period, 19 1/2" high, 20 1/2" wide, 13 3/4" deep, lift up top, mounted with heavy black iron handles and corners with large red Kanji writing on both sides, and plain black lacquer finish on the sides, inside the trunk is finished with beige color lacquer. Shows wear and tear on heavy lacquer finish around edges and trims.

Reportedly found in Western Mesopotamia, the motif of this fine large stamp seal, is known also in Eastern Anatolia and dates to the late 5th.-4th. millenium BC (Ubaid period).

The seal is expertly engraved with the image of a scary spiked demonic creature on 4 legs. In the field before him, there's a bird.

Size: 36 mm. wide and 28 mm. tall, height is 7-8 mm.

A wonderful matching pair of Chinese pottery figures of male and female attendants. The figures date to Ming Dynasty 1368-1644 AD.

They are both dressed in robes glazed matching torqouise and dark blue colors. They are placed on plints and each carry a box in front of the chest. He wewars a black hat, and shea has an artfully styled hairdress. The heads are attachable.

Facial details were made with fragile pigment colors of which some remains.

A lovely Chinese porcelain Kangshi Period polychrome dish. The edges are "flueted" in 4 places and the interior base features a garden scene with flowers, rocks, and a fence. In excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, no hairlines. Measures 5.25 inches diameter by 1.25" high. Dates circa 1790

A metal box which contains an ink stone to grind ink sticks for writing. The box has been cast in light colored brass and has a copper bottom. The ink stone is secured in the lid with a spring frame. The top of the box shows a beautifully engraved lotus flower with leafs and a bud. There are also engraved Chinese characters which say the box was presented by a younger brother to his older brother. The box measures about 3 5/8" long x 2 3/8" wide x 1" tall. The box is in good condition...

Japanese antique box constructed of Kiri (paulownia) wood with original dark red lacquer finish. The top iron handle may be used to carry the box, and it also opens the top shallow compartment for safely keeping calligraphy papers. Below, the main body of the box holds two long drawers originally used for ink stones, brushes, and other scholar's implements.
