This unusual carved ivory export cosmetic box is an early 19th century product. The hibiscus (or maybe peony) and its buds, leaves and branch were very carefully carved over the entire box. It is 3 ½” high and 4 ½” in diameter. It is in excellent condition.

Antique Japanese woodblock print by the artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi. This print from his famous Suikoden Series depicts one of "One Hundred and Eight Heroes of the Popular Suikoden". Very rare early Ming Dynasty Hongzhi period ( 1488 - 1505 ) blue and white bowl with Tibetian Sanskrit inscriptions. There are also bowls of this type from the Ming Wanli period, but for Wanli the glaze of this rare bowl is too white, and so this bowl definately is from the Hongzhi or Chenghua period. Perfect condition . D : 13,4 cm. A " must " for any Kollector of Ming Blue and white minyao.

This outstanding frame of bone points are from the Columbia River, Oregon and are C700-1200. They were pictured in the Oregon Archaeological Society Magazine "Screenings" Volume 5 Number 6 on August 13, 1956. A copy of the article is included. They were recovered from the Wakemap Mound. The longest is 3". These are extremely rare bone items with beautiful patina.

A Japanese iron garden lantern often referred to as a toro. Often these lanterns are placed within a garden setting to guide guests towards a tea house or an entrance to a building. The iron lantern contains a short inscription with the date when the piece was made (first year of Taisho, 1912) and that the lantern was made by Yojiro. Offered is this set of three, iridescent, 'Favrile' glass shades, with zippered pattern, made by Quezal around 1910. All shades are signed. Each shade is 4 1/2 inches wide, 3 1/2 inches high and have the standard 2 1/4 inches fitter width. They are in very good condition - one shade has a fleabite on the fitter-rim (see picture) and there is some roughness on the fitter-rim of one shade.
