The best Victorian bed we've ever had or seen, this half tester American bed, circa 1860, is absolutely beautiful. It measures 10 feet tall, 83 inches long and 68 inches wide. It takes a queen size mattress. Its in all original condition with the exception of the top having been recovered. Probably made in New York by Prudent Mallard.

Beautiful ladies chair in a variation of the Rosalie pattern by Belter. Henry Belter became fameous for taking layers of wood, mostly rosewood, and laminating them so that they could bend and form a wonderful shape that showed off the wood so beautifully. This clear quartz stone is carved in the form of a mountain with tall peaks to accommodate five or six small calligraphy brushes. The front has a “ruyi” carved in low relief among rocky outcroppings across its slightly convex facade. The backside is flat and uncarved and reveals the natural flaws in the clear stone. It has a soft polish overall and an even wear. Acquired in Osaka, Japan in the 1970s.
