A handle surmounts the peak of this beautifully rendered vase by Myagawa (Makuzu) Kozan enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Seiji-yu Sometsuke Te-oke-gata Kabin (Celadon Handled Bucket Shaped Vase with Blue and White Design). This is his Tsutsugaki item, which is impressive with its very surreal pine and bamboo designs drawn in Tsutsugaki during the Edo period. The young pine tree in the center of the picture is drawn in an unbelievably large and surreal manner, and the bamboo, which is also impossibly deformed, is drawn in the background. This is quite an unconventional item among the indigo-dyed items of the Edo period...

Lovely spherical Ge type crackleware glazed Qing jar with very light celadon tone. There are some chips and cracks so please view enlargements. Authentic antique Ge wares have become very rare in the past 20 years, I was lucky to find this one. H: 7.5cm/2.9in and D: 9cm/3.5in.

A small Cizhou jar was applied on the surface with black glaze.
In fine shape, the jar was adapted with a newly made lacquer cap.

Date: Yuan periods, 13th Century.

A lovely patinated silver box, probably for betel Chewing. High grade silver!

Cylindrical container with mythical creatures and animals on the lid, body and bottom. An additional section inside. Very nice decoration and quite rarely seen as ornate from Burma.

Condition: About extremely fine, warm old patina.

Chogappo made of fragments of ramie, one of bast fibers, which is recycled from white and natural color ramie. It has beautiful gradation of natural color fragments. Pojagi is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (choma or hemp) fragments. Attractive lady, seen in motion, taking a step forward and clad in a large thick robe, draped halfway down, exposing her beautiful white skin. Imposing hairdress with roses and she is wearing a necklace. She holds a large incense burner, standing on a square plint. She is glazed in torquise and dark blue colours.

Buddha in bronze cast with lost wax and gilded with mercury. The walls are very thick, the statuette is heavy. The gilding is original, certainly baked several times to obtain a nice thickness. The reverse of the dress is chiseled with stylized flowers. The base is closed by an incised copper plate of Vajra. The base does not appear to have been opened. The two arm bracelets were originally to have stone beads, today replaced by a colored coating...
