This is said to be a Guan type brush washer of Southern Sung period, probably from Guan Kiln as the paste is more porous.

Three(3) Japanese Satsuma Signed by "Hakuzan" Earthenware Saucers, Ca. 1920, 5 3/8" diameter, 3/4" high, Dragon Rankan decorated low relief Saucers, the condition is good.

Chinese Imari Teapot decorated in typical palette with an unusual design of two ducks below stylised plants. C1740/50. Height 12.7 cm. Condition; excellent, frit to side of spout and shallow chip 0.4 cm to underside of spout, small bruise to base of lid.

Rare early 20th century Yi minority lacquered box constructed from leather. I purchased this piece in a Bai minority, weekly market in Yunnan near Dali around 2002. I assume this is now an extinct craft no longer being done because of the availability of cheap plastic items as well as the migration of artisans to better paying jobs in the city. Very minor lacquer losses on the edge. Excellent condition. H: 5cm/2in

Early 1800s

This candlestick is cast in the form of a medieval, possibly English, bearded ma. The candle cups and base are attached by a hand-cut screw that formed part of the casting. It has an old, though not original patina. It is in good condition.

Very large and impressive early Dynastic or pre-dynastic stamp seal, Mesopotamia, ca. late 4th.-early 3rd. millenium BC.

The seal hemispheric, drilled through the top in a greenish-black stone with a high relief engraving of a 4-legged animal.

Size: 30 mm. in diameter and 16,5 mm. high.

Condition: Choice, fine patina and wear but intact.

A large 16th Century Ming Dynasty deep dish painted in underglaze blue with grape and vine decoration to the centre and with alternating flowers and buddhist emblems around the rim. The underside is painted with elongated prunus branches under the rim and with stylized peach branches to the inside. The base is unglazed. Antique Tibetan Buddhist small reliquary in stupa form. Carved of quartz crystal in two sections with traces of gold leaf, this votive offering would have once been housed in a larger container and placed at the foot of an architectural stupa acting as either a funeral mound or housing relics of an important person. This 18K gold bell is a real beauty with original clapper intact which gives an extremely pleasing tinkle. It is 7/8". This is especially beautiful gold. It weighs 13.4 grams. The sound of bells were used by shamans in their magical rituals to open portals or manifest will. It has a large decorated loop on top allowing it to be worn with a large chain. An outstanding piece of pre-Columbian jewelry.

Beautiful Japanese antique storage tansu with locking bar, made with all keyaki (elm) wood front and frame, iron hardware, top portion has three drawers covered by a vertical locking bar, bottom portion has sliding panels with horizontal slats, bottom right side opens to reveal two small interior drawers, deep red translucent lacquer finish, Edo Period.
