19c netsuke of 5 boys playing blind man’s buff with 4 of them hiding behind a floor screen, while the blindfolded one is searching on the other side. Rare subject, wonderful carving, nice faces, very good etching of a landscape and pine saplings on the screen, beautiful wear and patina. Length 1 9/16 inches.
Ko Imari Oranda-jin Hexagonal Hakukaku Mukuzuke c.1800
A deep octagonal bowl, mukuzuke, or choku, decorated with eight panels containing figures of orand-jin Dutchmen in various poses and involved in a number of activities. Some carry canes or cudgels and are perhaps involved in some sort of martial activity, whilst others carry a dove, a chatusbo (tea-jar) and a ruyi sceptre, auspicious objects...
Rare Japanese document tansu with 10 drawers of differing size, made all of keyaki wood with beautiful heavy grain and original deep reddish orange translucent lacquer finish, iron hardware with square shaped handles, Edo Period (late 18th/early 19th century).
Size: 22 1/4" high x 31" wide x 15" deep.
Unusual small dagger, its handle made of horn and carved in the shape of a forearm and fist. The strangely shaped iron blade bears the craftsman's initials. Indonesia, Borneo Island. Length: 7 3/8" (18,7 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Signs of long use, otherwise good condition.
This box would have been used to display sacred Buddhist Sutra or text book. The importance of the contents is indicated by the viewing windows on front, back, top and sides of the box. The exterior of the box is covered with black lacquer and over-painted with gold. It is painted red on the inside.
There is some minimal paint loss, which is to be expected in a piece of this age.

From our Early Chinese Collection, a rare earthenware Buddhist offering vessel dating from either the Song or Yuan Dynasty (960-1368 AD). This offering vessel is one of a group of several highly obscure and esoteric pottery pieces hailing from Yunnan Province in Southwestern China. The formal scholarship on these pieces is unfortunately thin at best, and we are currently aware of only one publication addressing these pieces at all, which is Michael Teller's Offering Vessels of Yunnan...
A high quality specimen of broadbladed silex axes, imitating the celts of the early European bronzeage, made in South East Denmark, during Late Neolithic to early bronzeage periods, ca. 1800-1600 BC.
The axe is partly polished and with visible seams,
in a wonderful completely calsified silex stone, so with a fine white patina and iron-oxide markings. Tagged 92 with old collection tags, and with the finding place and date 1885 in pencil - a very early provenance for these...

18th century netsuke of sennin (or rakan) Handaka Sonja wearing an old robe with leaf cape and skirt, with a gnarled staff in one hand and supporting a bowl with dragon emerging from it. The rakkan is Arhat Panthaka - one of the most capable disciples of Buddha, who subjugated the Dragon King, and is usually portrayed with a dragon. Strong early carving with excellent face, eyes are inlaid with black horn, netsuke of characteristic 18th century triangular section...
Chinese pair of monochrome porcelain vases with a speckled raspberry glaze. They are of an elegant, elongated tapering form, the bases of each vase marked with Hongxian red seal. In the year 1916, Yuan Shikai attempted to reinstate monarchy by naming himself the Emperor of China after the Qing Dynasty was overthrown in 1911. Due to extreme backlash, his reign lasted for less than 100 days, ending on March 1916.

A very rare white porcelain Song qingpai ewer with a clear pale bluish glaze. The body and shoulder of the vase have skillfully executed free-flowing scraffiato designs of florals and leaves. The tall cylindrical neck is encircled at the base by two horned dragons whose heads meet at the spout. The grooved loop handle is further decorated with eight small balls. The glaze pools in some areas creating a beautiful light watery blue...

All original hand forged iron hardware including the stylized Kakute handles. Natural Urushi lacquer accentuates the beautiful wood grain. Song Dynasty Green Glaze jarlet with two ears...in very good condition without cracks or chips, some wear in terms of scratches...small points of imperfection in glaze at time of firing. Floral pattern around top portion of jarlet and scrolling pattern around lower portion at the base. Diameter: 2 and half inches, height 2 inches.
Antique, 18th-19th century, Indo-Persian, Islamic rare divination bowl, also called Magic Bowl or Medicinal bowl. The bowl is made of turned and hand-finished cast brass of typical rounded form, with an averted rim pierced with a small hole, allowing a suspension cord to be fitted.
The center of the bowl has a tapering central boss amongst Arabic writing. The inner surface is decorated with talismanic and Koranic symbols in Arabic writings, with three Mihrab and six paisley (boteh) form panels...
