Japanese Antique Ajiro Kago (Bamboo Fishing Basket) with an elegant form and design, signed by Kazuhiro. 18 inches (46cm) high x 6 inches (15cm) wide.

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this quality bronze surgical instrument. The instrument was used as a probe and one end is grooved, which may have been used to hold sutures. There is a nice banded groove design toward the end and the bronze instrument has a lovely ancient olive patina. The instrument itself measures 6 5/8" in length. This comes beautify and professionally framed with a description plaque on the front. The frame size measures 11.25" x 9.25". Roman, Ca. 100 A.D.

A small lidded jar or bowl, Kangxi period, c 1700. Clobbered in iron red, green, black and gilt over the original under-glaze blue decoration, for the European (Dutch?) market. The base with an “Asian” seal mark in iron red. Height, including lid "2¾/ 7 cm. Condition: the lid with some rubbing to the gilt, otherwise fine.

It is the Katazome cotton cloth which this was made for Edo period and was dyed on the basis of a natural indigo plant. As for this, cotton is spun by hand and is slightly thick. Long offering vessel in the shape of a "yoni" (stylised female sex) with a centrally placed pointed "lingam" (stylised male sex). Hammered copper, with a fine reddish-green patina. India, early 19th century. Length: 26 cm. Very good condition. A rather rare object. NOTE: The Yoni is the symbol of the Hindu Goddess Shakti, while the male counterpart is the Hindu God Shiva's Lingam Their union represents the eternal process of creation and regeneration...

This is a high quality and very refined pair of Japanese Cloisonne vases. Though not quite as prolific work as on some pieces, the quality is very high. With almost pitless enamel and a high highly sheen, these vases glow. Condition is excellent and these vases are 4 3/4 inches tall.
