A whimsical scene with the lady holding the "nose" of the octopus who in return is sneaking his tentacle up her kimono. Wonderful attention to detail can be seen in the weaving of the basket behind the two figures as well as in the suction cups of the tentacles and the fashionable Edo Period knot in the woman's long hair. This is a finely potted Qing dynasty blue and white shallow dish. It has a pair of phoenix soaring in the sky. On the base it has a four character mark "Zhing Tang Fu Chi". This date the dish to the late Qing dynasty, possibly Guangxu period - late 19th century to early 20th century.

Generally in good condition. No chip, crack, hairline or repair. Only a pin hole as shown in picture no.4.

This 19th century nephrite carving of a fisherman is 3 ¼” high, 2 ¼” wide and 1 ¾” thick. It depicts an old smiling fisherman. His right hand is holding a mulberry branch; his left hand is holding his beard. His straw hat is hanging on his back. He has two fish tied to the ends of the branch and is attempting to put them into a basket at his feet. It is in great condition.
