Up for sale is a very large antique chinese red silk tapestry brocaded with polychrome peonies & vines, and gold thread shadows, Qianlong period. The panel is made up of 2 pieces from a yardage, each about 27" wide, and that explains why there is a seam in the middle; the panel backed with light yellow silk. A rare "mark and period" Chinese porcelain bowl. Small cast bronze incense burner in the shape of a duck. The bird is lying on its folded legs and gracefully twists its neck to groom its plumage. There has never been a lid because the opening on its back is clean without grooves and without any trace of friction or wear. The carving is of good quality, the eyes and nostrils are particularly well executed. Chinese work from the 18th century or much earlier. I think this plate is absolutely charming. The carved / incised borders add a nice touch. Excellent shade of blue and excellent glaze give this piece a crisp, rather refreshing aesthetic...

Kangxi mark, possibly of the period, 1662-1722

This pair of soft paste porcelain ovoid jars are decorated in underglaze cobalt blue of a strong sapphire tone. Both jars are decoarted with identical designs of foo lions at play with various stylized cloud elements filling in the background. Surround the neck is a thin line design that forms a six-pointed star when viewing straight down from the top. The necks of both jars are unglazed and originally would have had dome-shaped lids...

An exceptionally well decorated and finely potted bowl made to the best Imperial standards. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Chenghua Emperor enclosed within a double circle. This item was made later - during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor - probably in imitation of or as a replacement for a 15th Century Ming original. There are eight chips to the rim. Jingdezhen potters really took overglaze enameling to new heights during the Kangxi period...

A superb early Qing Shunzhi - Kangxi wucai baluster jar, this large jar has straight neck, broad shoulders with sides tapering towards and flat unglazed base. This jar is painted in under glaze blue and over glaze red, green, and yellow over glaze enamel, there is scenery of human motif in four panel radiating on each side, neck with flower motif.
Jar is in good condition with faint hairline at the rim, no chip, no restoration.
Size: 31 cm height

A rare, finely potted, small deep dish, well painted with "famille verte" enamels and decorated in scholar's taste with precious objects . This item was made in Jingdezhen, China circa 1700-1722 during the reign of the Kangxi emperor.
