Small bat-shaped water container. It is in porcelain covered with a beautiful green glassure and is pierced with 4 openings, a small one at the mouth, 2 others on either side of the ears and a large one at the back.
Was to serve as a water cup, either as a dropper, perhaps as an oil lamp or an incense holder, or several functions at the same time. It is a rare and charming object which is also auspicious.
Good condition, normal wear for a centuries-old object...

This realistically cast Meiji period bronze vase is 13 1/4 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter at its widest point. It depicts an eagle resting on an old tree. There is a stamped maker¡¯s mark on the bottom which reads ¡°Hidemitsu¡±. The owner purchased this piece from Sotheby¡¯s in the early seventy¡¯s. It is in excellent condition.
Fine, old and rare Chang Naga, three paneled body “prestige” cloth with anthropomorphic cowry shell design. Made from very fine hand spun cotton weft and silk warp, the cowry shells have a fine toned aged patina. This is a genuinely old cloth circa 50 to 70 years old (not for the tourist market). Here we offer another Japanese tea kettle from our collection. It is a cast iron relief tetsubin from the late Edo Period. It is signed by the unknown artist. It has a tasteful design.
Inside is some rust but no water leak. Great atmosphere. A real antique tetsubin.

Wood mask of the Gigaku theater representing Konju, a figure in ancient Gigaku dance. The finely carved mask shows a very strong expression. Japan, early Edo period. Height: 18 cm. Beautiful age patina. Some abrasion, otherwise very good condition. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand.
NOTE: Gigaku theater is one of the most ancient dramatic arts in Japan, performing ritual dance, mime and music, and taking place inside Buddhist temples...

Rare Yixing Hexagonal Tea Caddy and Cover, the sides finely moulded with flowering prunus on a diaper ground. Chinese 18thC. Height 16.6cm. Condition: four minor shallow frits to rim of caddy; no cracks, chips or restoration.
Large Antique Japanese oribe ware tebachi, or ceramic container with handles. The inside and outside edges are hand painted with scrolling leaves and flowers. Round ribbed body tapers at the foot, thick dripping blue and purple glaze around handles. 19th Century

A very small porcelain vessel, for one single dosis of a medicine. China, Qianlong, 18th century. The name of the medicine is written in under glaze blue to one side, to the other the name of the disease it was intended to cure. Height "1 ¼ / 3.3 cm. Condition: fine.
