This is horse cover textile at the Meiji era.(1868-1912) It draws in the indigo dye by the technique of tsutsugaki. It is a very vivid, impressive motif. It is wonderful horse cover textile. This is the one in the Tohoku region. It uses it at the wedding. This is rolled in horse's trunk. The bride rides on this horse. There is little damage in the edge. There is a little stain. However, it doesn't stand out.

19th century Edo period Goto school Japanese kashira (metal pommel at the end of the hilt of a sword) with multimetal relief inlays depicting ra bird on a flowering branch. Superb quality crisp work, multiple inlays of copper, silver, shakudo and gold, is excellent condition. Finely textured ground called nanako, which means “fish-eggs” as it resembles fine rows of caviar. Extraordinary piece of Japanese metalwork. Length 1.4 inches.

It’s of conical form flaring from a ring foor to the wide mouth,
incised in the well and below the lip with narrow line and
covered overall by an evenly toned grey green celadon glaze.
A short hair line crack and tiny small repair on the rim, otherwise it is in
fine condition. It measures 7” d. x 2 ¾” h.
