Japanese Meiji period Imari porcelain charger decorated in underglaze blue and overglaze polychrome enamels and gilt highlights with four panels holding bamboo, calligraphy, flying birds, and a variety of blossoming flowers all set against a blue background with gold accented leaves. Three sections of blue waves separated by flying birds encircle the back rim. Circa 1900. 16 3/4" diameter x 2 1/2" high. Very good overall condition...

It is 2 inches (5.1 cm) long by 2.6 inches (6.7 cm) wide. The beads range from 10.05 mm to 14.99 mm long by 6.46mm to 12.15 mm wide. It is 110.2 gram.

A lovely bowl of Jizhou ware. PERIOD : Southern Song Dynasty (12-13th Century). MEASUREMENT : 10.5 cm wide, 5 cm height. CONDITION : excellent, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

Finely cast five-point vajra (or dorje), made of bronze, with nice dark green patina. Tibet, early 19th century. Length: 12.4 cm. Very good condition.

A pair of Kangxi-Yongzheng lotus-shaped blue and white dishes, freely painted with floral sprays in nine separate panels encircling a central field. Both dishes have very fine and luminous glaze.

Antique Japanese velvet painting "Yuzen Birodo". It is a beautiful image of Mount Fuji with a small town on a lake, the foreground is full of water lilies. It bears a seal in the bottom right of the image. Yuzen Birodo or velvet painting was a technique made popular during the 17th century. The artist would work using a special process of dying where the image is created in the weave of the fabric thus creating an image of rich colors...

An exceptionally small Japanese tea or wine bowl and saucer, Edo period c 1710. Blood and milk iron red and gilt decoration of butterflies, flowers and swirls. Height of cup 1 ¼ " / 3.2 cm Diameter 2 ¼ "/ 5.5 cm, of saucer 3 ½ "/ 8.8 cm. Condition: repair to the saucer, the cup with a nick to the inner side of the foot rim (c.f. pics).

A pair of Chinese famille rose bowls, decorated with gourd and butterfly motifs on green grounds. Gourds and butterflies together have an auspicious hidden meaning of "Guadie Mianmian (瓜瓞绵绵)” - may there be ceaseless generations of sons and grandsons. There are six character "Daqing jiaqing nianzhi" marks inside the foot rims, and of the period. Condition: nearly perfect condition,the only flaw is one tiny chip on the rim. Black lacquered double door zushi portable shrine opening to a well-carved and polychrome painted image of Jizo Bodhisattva, sitting in repose on a lotus throne, his hand holding a staff with sacred rings, framed by a gilt metal mandorla. Accompanied by two attendants in a rocky grotto setting. Size:14.5"W closed, 29"W open x 11.5" D x 20"H. Edo Period, circa pre 1850s.

A substantial and attractive vessel in pinkish travertine with fine inclusions, Uruk/Jemdet Nasr - Early Dynastic, 3300-2700 BC.

The stone used is a rare pinkish travertine with fosil remains and lighter cream inclusions, large areas of dark deposts and patina.

Late Edo period (19cc) Shino ware Chawan for tea ceremony Wabi Sabi

The fine crackle look with natural kiln vivid cracks gives the bowl an authentic wabi sabi feel.
Overall, it is a great example of an old, beautifully crafted Shino tea bowl.

Shino pottery is produced in today's Gifu prefecture since 16th century and it is distinguished by thick white glazes, red marks and the surface of small holes.
