A wonderful quality pottery Jug from Siegburg, Germany dating to the 16th. cent. AD.

A type called Trichterhalskrug in German, that often was made with an oval or round medallion at teh front. In this case the medallion is unusually crisp and elaborate for the type and depicts a coat of arms for a city or a wealthy House.

A pair of attractive early European iron keys, with remnants of copper on the larger one, c. 16th. century.

Lot includes a large 14,5 cm. long key with remnants of copper plating and cross cut bit, early 16th. century, perhaps even earlier. The other key with a hearthshaped bow, measuring 10,7 cm. c. 16th. century.

Condition: Very fine, nice metal with a thick and stable iron patina.

This is an exquisite antique Japanese Imari porcelain jar and cover from the late 17th century, precisely from the Edo period, circa 1680-1700 AD. The jar is a testament to the unparalleled craftsmanship of the Japanese artisans of the time. The ovoid body of the jar is expertly decorated underglaze with peonies and chrysanthemums in iron red, cobalt blue, and gilt. The decoration seems to be growing out of rockwork, which adds an extra layer of depth and texture to the piece...

A beautifully and well shaped Ming Dynasty (1368-1643A.D) rice bowl with blue splashes that looks like the shape of a heart. This piece is retrieved from the sea. The bowl is a common household ware likely to be used for eating rice or drinking water/wine. It is an export ware for the South-East Asian market. It is also likely that this blue bowl can be dated toward the end of the Ming Dynasty - 17th century. The glaze, although is thin and smooth, is still in relatively good conditions...

It features a broad-shouldered, globular body that sits on a ring foot and has a short neck and a slightly flared mouth. The body is finely hand-painted underglaze in bright shades of cobalt blue with a continuous landscape scene depicting scholars in a garden surrounded by trees and rocks...

A Ming dynasty blue and white double gourd vase, with neatly painted of three Dragons among lotus scrolls. the upper side with one open mouth dragon and below with one Dragon open mouth and the other is closed mouth among lotus scrolls. Possibly middle to late Ming Longqing to Wanli period 17th century. Condition is good, no any chip, free from any restoration excepted one very light hairline to the rim side. Height: 33,5 cm.

17th Century Japanese Samurai Sword Katana

It is 27.2 inches (69.1 cm) long by 1.7 inches (4.4 cm) wide and the blade is 20.6 inches (52.3 cm) in length by 1.1 inches (2.8 cm) wide. It is 1.5 lb.

It is missing a handle. The saya has stains, surface wears, and scratches. The blade has rust, flea bite chips, oxidation, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A square shallow bowl in the form of a Japanese rice measure, masu, which was considered to be an auspicious form decorated to the exterior with two Dragons in different stances with two eight character poems with seals. Presumably the shape was intended as a play on the word, namasu, a term used to traditionally describe a serving of pickled vegetables and the related bowl...
