A wedding plate finely painted with "famille rose" enamels against a pale green 'celadon' ground. The border is richly decorated with lotus, peony flowers, birds, insects, good luck symbols and auspicious objects. A piece of Narumi-Kongata (also called Urumi-zome) cloth which is hand-spun cotton and dyed with vegetable indigo. Narumi-Kongata is one kind of katazome (stencil-resist-dye) imitating shibori. It had been produced from late Edo to Meiji period but not produced anymore. It has auspicious shrimp motif with intricate pattern which requires high dye and stencil making technique. This miniature Japanese blue and white Imari vase is an early 20th century product. It is 3 ¾” high and 2 ¼” at its widest part. A fan shaped design painted with a landscape and tree adorn the neck of the vase. Morning glory, chrysanthemum and unknown flowers are painted on the body. Though small, the painting is very well presented. Aside from two cracks, one on the bottom and one on the side of the fan due to firing, it is in excellent condition.
This is a very rare round hole coin known as a Yuan, as identified by the single character on the right. Yuan was a city in the state of Liang in ancient China. This coin has not been acid treated nor artificially aged, it is well worn and has the verdigris that is natural and impossible to scrape off by conventional means. These range in size and weight from 41.2 to 43 mm, and range 8.8 to 10.7 grams). Condition is fine. Date: about 300 B.C.E. Warring states period...
This plain pot metal vessel was used to contain hair oil during the reign of Chinese Emperor Daoquang about 1850. Standing about 6 inches high and 3.5 inches diameter at the widest point, a woman would dip her comb into the oil before combing her hair. I do have an identical matched pair of these but am selling them separately.

Japanese rare and unusually beautiful short matchlock rifle. The wide iron barrel is inlaid with a dragon in silver with raised golden eyes. The handle is lacquered black and decorated with gold lacquer kuyo (nine-star) mon crest, which was used by more than one family including the Katakura and Matsukura samurai clans. This mon appears again inlaid in silver around the mouth of the rifle. Made by one of the Kunitomo, specialized gunsmiths to the samurai...
Japanese antique 4 section butsudan (Buddhist shrine for household use). The exterior is lacquered all black with double cabinet doors to the shrine area. The interior of the butsudan is lacquered gold and black and has ornate carved details of phoenixes and a dragon just below the shrine roof area. Details of birds and waves are carved in the area below. The interior shrine compartment has a slide out tray as well as a small compartment with gold lacquer sliding panels...
Unusual 1930s good size and weight Chinese puddingstone seal of classic square section, the imprint of the seal is shown on the first photo. Superbly cut beautiful natural stone with mesmerizing subtle play of colors. The bottom is carved with 4 sunken characters that can be translated as HALL OF TOTAL RIGHTEOUSNESS. Very pleasant to hold, in excellent condition, nice object for a scholar’s desk. Height 3 9/16 inches, 1 1/2 inches square.

This small 19th century Chinese carved nephrite cup is 3 ¼” long 1 ½” high and 1 ¾’ on its widest part. The cup was carved to look like an old bronze vessel. A dragon (or beast) head is carved on the top of the handle and belt like “Ru Ding” design encompasses the entire body. Aside a tiny indentation on its rim, it is in great condition.
