A large heavy bottle vase depicting two confronting five clawed dragons amongst clouds and flames and above breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795)but possibly made later during the 19th Century. It arrived in the UK before 1910 and is from an old West Country estate. Condition - the neck has been reduced and polished. There are no chips or cracks and there has been no restoration but there are surface scratches...

Antique Japanese zenibako, or money box, made of heavy Keyaki (elm) wood. The piece uses a funnel top lid for collecting temple offerings, secured with a very large iron front lock. Original condition. With mortis and tenon joinery.

This a Kioto School Netsuke, carved in Late 18th century, that depicts a seated and laughing Hotei. His robe falling open to reveal a large belly. The robe with incised leave branches. Hotei's hand and feet unsually large. Large, faithful time-period chimney himotoshi. Wonderful two-tone patina. Netsuke measures 1.55 inches (3.9cm) wide, and 1.45 inches (3.7cm) tall. It has some age hairlines, common to netsuke this old, but, it is solid, and otherwise, in excellent condition.

A very nice porcelain jar of the Ming Dynasty, Yongle period ( 1403 - 1425 ) decorated in underglaze cobalt-blue with a very decorative, classic Lotus-motif. The condition, the execution of the classic Lotus motif, the wonderful "silky" glaze and the deep and very nice cobalt blue makes this jar to an highlight for any Yongle-collection. Diameter: 10,4 cm. H : 9,8 cm. Condition: Perfect.

A beautifully formed bowl in the typical Gohon style, produced in Korea for the Japanese market during the 17th century. The light-grey ash glaze makes a tasteful backdrop for the pinkish speckles decorating the surface. These patterns are formed through a reaction of the iron in the clay and the ash glaze and are very typical of this type of pottery. One edge of the bowl is furnished with a dimple, making it comfortable in the hand while the gold repairs give it an added beauty and depth...

Burmese wooden crowned Buddha with gilded gold or sometimes known as 'King Buddha's, wearing diadem-crowns and ornaments of kings instead of ordinary monk's robes.

Crowned Buddha represents the Buddha's role as a universal sovereign.

An antique Japanese bronze cast crow standing on a Momiji (Maple) wood Kadai (flat natural wood stand). Having just landed, it appears to be getting familiar with its surroundings. One can almost imagine its caw to stake out its territory. Fine feathers and claws show the detail that went into the casting of this piece.

An antique Japanese Isho Biraki Tansu (clothes storage chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original bronze and iron hardware. Beautiful hardwood trim outlining the Tansu front. This is a finely carved Japanese netsuke depicting Fukurokuju, one of the Seven Gods of Fortune, the God of Wealth and Longevity, holding a turtle on his left hand and a staff on his right hand. A turtle, in Japanese culture, symbolizes longevity and happiness. Behind Fukurokuju there is a Karako holding a Buddhist Cintamani or wish-fulfilling Jewel.
