A moulded hexagonal bowl, hakkaku hachi, decorated to the exterior with an iron red ground inset with alternating reserves containing ribbon bound scrolls, makimono, and artemisin leaves, mogusa-ha, two of the Eight Chinese precious objects, Babao, hachitakara, and a band of stylised eight petal flowers, presumably Tessen the clematis flower, with leaves and pine branches...

A pair of cobalt blue glazed Sake cups with hexagonal notched rims. Each cup is decorated in gilt with a pair of Hollander figures preforming martial exercises with Halberds. The cups date to around 1780 and the Meiwa era. The cups measure 7.5cm or 3 inches in diameter, and stand 5cm or 2 inches high, and are in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration, save for one minute rim frit to one of the cups. Japanese Arita Blue and White Jug, the slender body decorated with a stylised landscape. C1680/1700 Height 22.5cm. Condition: slight wear to tip of spout, rim and top of handle from original metal mount. Shallow chip to inside of footrim 2.0cm. No other chips, cracks or restoration.

This is one of the first tea bowls in Japan, which came together with the first tea from China. It is a Chinese Jian Tenmoku Tea Bowl of the oil-spot type. These bowls were produced in large quantities for the general public as well as for the imperial court between the 10th and and the 13th century in the Fujian province.

This type with the flaring mouth is relatively rare and is shaped in James M. Plummers: Temmoku (Tokyo, 1972), p.63...

Longquan stoneware vase of an archaic bronze gu or zun form, with a wide mouth and everted rim. The vase has ge type of golden celadon glaze.
